Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic

Senior Merchandiser/Supervisor

to join our team for a renowned chocolate confectionary brand within Dubai Duty Free. This role will focus on managing the merchandising operations, driving sales, ensuring product availability, and providing exceptional customer service across our exclusive airport retail spaces.

The ideal candidate will have experience in retail merchandising, a passion for luxury brands, and a deep understanding of customer behavior within the duty-free and travel retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

Product Merchandising

:

Ensure premium display of chocolate confectionery products in line with brand standards and visual guidelines. Coordinate the setup and maintenance of attractive product displays, ensuring high-impact placements that increase sales and brand visibility. Work with store management to ensure shelves are fully stocked and products are rotated appropriately.

Sales Optimization

: Monitor sales trends and implement merchandising strategies that drive product sales and profitability. Actively contribute to achieving sales targets and KPIs through effective product placements and promotions. Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling products to enhance customer purchase experience.

Team Supervision

: Lead, motivate, and train a team of merchandising staff to ensure they are aligned with brand objectives and store policies. Provide guidance on customer service techniques, product knowledge, and upselling practices. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to improve team performance and efficiency.

Inventory Management

: Monitor stock levels, initiate restocking orders, and manage product inventories to minimize stockouts and overstock situations. Assist in the preparation of stock audits and help manage stock rotations to ensure optimal freshness of confectionery products.

Brand Ambassadorship

: Maintain and promote the chocolate confectionary brand's identity, values, and high standards in every aspect of store operations. Represent the brand during promotions, product launches, and customer interactions to increase brand awareness and loyalty.

Customer Engagement

: Ensure an exceptional customer experience through personal engagement, product recommendations, and detailed product knowledge. Resolve customer complaints or queries professionally, ensuring high customer satisfaction levels.

Reporting and Analysis

: Analyze sales data and customer feedback to provide actionable insights for optimizing product displays, promotions, and sales strategies. Prepare regular reports on merchandising activities, sales performance, and inventory levels for senior management.

Collaboration and Communication

: Work closely with the brand team, sales managers, and other departments to execute merchandising initiatives and promotions. Communicate any issues with product availability or display standards promptly to relevant stakeholders.

Experience

: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in retail merchandising or supervisory roles, with at least 2-3 years in a similar capacity in a luxury retail environment. Previous experience working in Dubai Duty Free or an airport retail environment is highly desirable. Experience in working with chocolate or confectionary brands is an advantage.

Skills & Attributes

: Strong knowledge of merchandising best practices, product placement, and visual merchandising techniques. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret sales data and trends. Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Fluent in English (Arabic language skills are a plus).
