Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will Report to the Engineer, the main responsibility of the role is to execute and install equipment under the engineer's direction within the allotted time and ensure reliable communication services for customers. Handle technical issues, troubleshoot, and provide solutions assuring the industry standards, regulations and manufacture guidelines within the budget and time.

1.Network Design and Planning:

Design and configure DWDM optical networks using Nokia platforms. Perform link engineering, including optical budget calculations and wavelength planning.

2.Installation and Commissioning:

Deploy Nokia DWDM equipment such as 1830 PSS (Photonic Service Switch). Commission and integrate DWDM systems into existing networks. Test and validate optical network performance.

3.Operations and Maintenance:

Monitor DWDM network performance using Nokia NMS/OSS tools. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to optical signal quality, hardware & SW. Perform software upgrades, patch management, and system backups.

4.Collaboration and Documentation:

Work with cross-functional teams to support network requirements and upgrades. Document network configurations, topologies, and operational procedures.

5.Customer Support:

Provide technical support to clients for Nokia DWDM solutions. Conduct training sessions for end-users or internal teams on Nokia DWDM systems.

6.Compliance and Optimization:

Ensure adherence to industry standards and protocols for optical networks. Optimize the performance of DWDM networks to meet SLA requirements.

Key Skills and Requirements:

Technical Expertise:

Hands-on experience with Nokia 1830 PSS 16/32/64 series or similar platforms. In-depth knowledge of DWDM, OTN, and coherent optical technologies. Proficiency in network management systems like Nokia NSP (Network Services Platform).

Networking Knowledge:

Familiarity with IP/MPLS, SDH/SONET, and Ethernet technologies. Understanding of fiber-optic principles and optical transmission.

Troubleshooting and Analysis:

Strong problem-solving skills for optical layer and hardware issues. Experience using test equipment like OTDR, OSA, and BER testers.
