Senior Technical Specialist - LTS2 Grade: 6 Location: Taif JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is committed to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda including Saudisation and the training and development of Saudi National capability through the growth of the Saudi National Partner Companies thereby reinforcing Industrialisation and Partnerships. The role requires the job holder to provide on hand support for the Typhoon Weapon Platform to the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) forward, depth and Saudi Maintenance Unit (SMU) organisation by utilising the approved dataset, personal experience and recourse to the Technical Query answering service. Providing support to the investigation of LRI's, removed from aircraft, through the Typhoon Asset Gateway (TAG) service. Providing Support to the RSAF in generating National Instructions from Industry provided approved data. The role requires the job holder to carry out day to day liaison between the Integrated Logistics and Operations Cell (ILOC), Maintenance Operations Cell (MOF), Depth and the SMU. Ensuring that service level agreements are met for all taskings including aircraft recovery, first time compliances, TAG Queries and experiential training of RSAF counterparts. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES Answering queries with specialist knowledge of appropriate aircraft systems, using approved data within the TSC, sourced from Technical Publications, TSC documentation or own system domain knowledge. Provide specialist on-aircraft Technical support across all aircraft systems to 3rd, 10th, 80th and SMU including: Support to SHM recovery, diagnostic, fault rectification and analysis CSMU recovery, diagnostic and analysis ( 301 RAG engagement etc ) Diagnostic interrogations utilising the AGERD 1648 test set ( DBTE/HLBA ) Support to the Radar and Selex FSR's utilising specialist test equipment (AGERD 1162 test set ) Support to the preparation, execution and reporting of various flight/ground trials Support to depth and TSC functions in diagnostic fault investigation and recovery Support to DVI template preparation and implementation Support to the GSS specialist for aircraft PMDS downloads for fault diagnostic and rectification Support to recovery of aircraft LRI's using on aircraft diagnostic techniques in accordance with approved Trilogiview re-test procedures Providing input to the status reporting process. Analysis of Technical Support Specialist Reports in order to identify 'bottlenecks' in the system and areas where improvements can be made. Corrective actions should then be suggested. Assist in analysis of Technical Specialist Reports and data provided by In-Service Data Management Team in order to identify trends in maintenance and operational problem areas on Typhoon to identify where improvements can be made. Providing structured On-the-Job training for Saudi National Technical Specialist Staff, in form of training, coaching, work experience and mentoring as appropriate. Providing Support to the RSAF in generating National Instructions from Industry provided approved data. RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION The following qualifications and experience are essential for this post: Essential Must be educated to Degree/HND level in a relevant engineering discipline or have relevant experience supported by formal, recorded workplace applied related training. Experience of multiple Typhoon Systems gained in an aerospace production or 'hands-on' support related environment. Computer literate with a sound understanding of the Microsoft Office suite, ESS, TrilogiView and WDMS. Capable of working independently, or as part of a team, under extreme pressure and to tight operational timescales. Understanding of Engineering, Design, Airworthiness, Safety and Quality standards. Knowledge of export control requirements (ITAR/USEC) Must be able to work in extreme conditions. Able to deploy at customer direction with little to no notice. Desirable Extensive experience of the Typhoon platform. Knowledge of PLM/Teamcentre. RECRUITMENT The post holder will have the following background: Demonstrable experience working in an aircraft design or maintenance environment. Demonstrate experience undertaking complex fault diagnosis through to completion. High level of composure and interpersonal skills to co-ordinate a large number of diverse and complex activities and the ability to communicate, influence and support the decision making process at all levels. Experience of multi-tasking to manage a wide range of activities at differing levels of maturity. Conscientious and display the integrity required for in depth testing, evaluation and reporting.
