Wood is currently looking for an Senior Subsea/Finite Element Engineer to be based in Abu Dhabi office for a permanent contract.
The successful candidate must be able to:
Provide technical support to the Company on \xe2\x80\x9cPipeline Engineering\xe2\x80\x9d issues related to both Offshore/Subsea and Onshore including installation of subsea cables and umbilical
Provide Pipeline Engineering support and Scope of Work for all projects executed by ETE Department
Ensure design optimization and application of correct international codes and standards in various Company\xe2\x80\x99s projects and studies
Function as a good team member and cordially coordinate/interact with Company project management team, site personnel and various outside consultants for the successful and effective execution of the projects
Conduct feasibility / conceptual studies and in-house engineering for small / medium size green and brown field subsea Pipeline/Cable projects
Provide support to multi-discipline engineering team during various feasibility study, conceptual engineering including other phases of the project
Develop business cases, execution strategies and statement of requirements related to pipeline projects and provide suitable input on cable projects as well
Prepare scope of work for external consultants and contractors for the execution of Pipeline and cable jobs
Review of bid documents, technical proposals including CTR submitted by various Consultants for the execution of intended scope It also involves providing response to qualifications / exceptions and exclusions as part of the bidding process
Review the design works/studies performed by Consultants and ensure compliance to Company\xe2\x80\x99s requirements, technical aspects in conjunction with international/industry standards
Review and approve drawings, specifications and technical documents for all Pipeline design and Cable routing/installation works
Prepare material requisition for pipeline and associated fittings as stipulated in the scope
Carry out technical evaluation of engineering consultants based on set criteria by the PMT
Participate in the technical evaluation of proposals and issuance of recommendations
Review the performance of engineering contractors/consultants and provide necessary design inputs and follow up during the execution of the project
Ensure state-of-art technology is applied throughout the engineering phase for cost effective and optimum solutions including application of value added engineering throughout assigned works
Participate in Pre-qualification of engineering consultants/vendors including review of bidders list
Participate in HAZOP / HAZID / Risk Assessment sessions and provide necessary input to other HSE related design reviews/audits
Provide input/update Company\xe2\x80\x99s Engineering Procedures, Standards, Technical Specifications, Design Philosophies and other Guidelines
Participate in site surveys of Company facilities to establish and identify the actual requirements
Provide technical assistance, coordination and liaise with other departments/business units within the Company on all aspects covering technical and general requirements
Participate in pipeline and cable installation related activities including witnessing on the barge
Assist in recruitment of pipeline engineers for the Company Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Civil / Structural / Mechanical Engineering from a reputed university
Courses on Pipeline Engineering is an added advantage
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry or engineering consultancy of which at least 10 years being related to design of Offshore Pipelines with relevant knowledge of offshore/subsea pipelines
The experience shall be in a Consultancy / EPC / Client environment and ability to work in multi discipline engineering team for conducting Conceptual studies, FEED and Detailed engineering
Conversant with Code and Standards related to Pipeline engineering and Oil and Gas industry
Detailed experience on Pipeline Design and Installation analysis including requisite information in Cable engineering is necessary; thorough knowledge in preparing key documents such as Design basis, Specifications, Design report, Field Layout and Alignments sheets is mandatory
Proficiency in Pipeline Engineering software\xe2\x80\x99s such as DNV Suite, PLUS ONE, OFFPIPE, AUTOPIPE, CAESAR, DNV SOFTWARES, STAAD PRO and Other general software\xe2\x80\x99s
Very good knowledge of English including good communication and interpersonal skills Company Overview:
