The purpose of the role is to work with the Sales and Proposition teams to ratify requirements, complete detailed design and provide continuity of technical expertise to the delivery teams and the customer during the delivery phase. Ensure we deliver a workable solution that meets the customer requirements, technical capabilities, global standards, and best practices.

Pre-sales responsibilities:

• Facing into the Lead Salesperson and the Lead Customer person and working with the supporting Refinitiv team to fundamentally ensure what is sold can be technically and functionally delivered AND supported within defined proposition parameters
• Being clear about what the customer requirements are and what can and cannot be delivered within the envelope of the defined proposition AND escalating potential requirements that should be considered by the Refinitiv business
• Being responsible for the technical design of any proposed technical solution based on the above accountabilities working with the broader Implementation group, Sales leads, and the Customer
• Accountable for signing off the proposed scope of deliverables, technical design, delivery timelines, efforts, and professional services deal commercial before it is presented for signature to the customer, with the power of vetoing proposals and escalating to resolution when that happens. Project implementation responsibilities:

• Accountable for the delivery of the technical design but not necessarily doing all the work
• Approving any variations to the design that may arise during the build
• Working hand in hand with the on-boarding project manager to ensure progress is reported and key milestones are maintained
• Accountable for the integration of the solution into the customer environment and assisting the client with migration
• Accountable for the post build internal sanity testing against the agreed functional specification
• Accountable for the creation of support run book for hand over into the service organization
• Accountable for signoff of the UAT plan with the customer
• Be on hand to support testing and answer questions and resolve issues using the implementation and operational teams sufficient to gain customer confidence in the delivered solution
• Be accountable that the customer signs off what has been delivered
• Where the technical scope of the project expands beyond the subject matter expertise of the individual Solutions Architect, the Solutions Architect should be responsible for seconding into the project the relevant additional subject matter expertise to allow the full scope of the Solutions Architect deliverables to be achieved

Post-implementation responsibilities:

• Be available to handle 3rd level escalations related to the solution in line with prevailing support mechanisms
• Be on hand if the customer wishes to vary their requirements to discuss if and how this might be accommodated being clear that variations may be subject to additional charges

Work outside the Solutions Architect role:

• Contribute to BAU products, propositions and related customer site implementation work to maintain the currency of their subject matter expertise and to maximize their contribution to the implementation delivery workload

Exclusions:

• The Solutions Architect will not be accountable for on-boarding project management but will be expected to contribute to planning for the relevant elements
• The Solutions Architect will not be accountable for pricing the customer proposition but will contribute to that piece of work which will be lead by the sales engineer
