Role Overview

We are hiring a Senior Shopify Software Executive to lead the design, development, optimisation, and scaling of our Shopify-based e-commerce ecosystem. The role oversees technical architecture, custom app development, backend integrations, automation, and performance enhancement. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, hands-on Shopify expertise, and the ability to create scalable solutions aligned with business growth and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Architecture

Lead the technical direction, architecture, and roadmap for Shopify storefronts, back-end integrations, and custom applications. Manage multi-store Shopify Plus implementations, internationalisation, and headless setups. Oversee custom Shopify app development, API-based services, and system integrations. Ensure platform security, compliance, and adherence to technical best practices. Monitor and optimise site speed, performance, and reliability.
Development & Integration

Drive optimisation of UX/UI, SEO, CRO, and overall customer journey performance. Architect integrations with ERP, CRM, OMS, PIM, payment gateways, fulfilment systems, and marketing tools. Oversee data synchronisation pipelines, automation workflows, and middleware services. Maintain technical documentation for codebases, systems, and architecture. Troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical issues.
Team Leadership & Collaboration

Lead and mentor Shopify developers, front-end engineers, QA, and technical partners. Define coding standards, review processes, and development best practices. Coordinate sprint planning, task allocation, and project delivery. Collaborate with internal stakeholders at various levels to support operational needs. Work with external agencies, freelancers, and platform partners when required.
Process, Governance & Compliance

Ensure compliance with data governance, security standards, and platform policies. Support automation to reduce manual work and improve efficiency. Following established SOPs and supporting subsidiary teams when required. Provide support in the absence of direct subordinates and perform tasks as assigned by management.
RequirementsEducation

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business IT, or related field. Preferred certifications: ITIL v4 Foundation PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum Shopify Plus-related certifications
Experience

7+ years of hands-on Shopify development experience, including Shopify Plus. 5-10 years managing enterprise and SaaS applications. 3+ years leading engineering teams or cross-functional developers. Experience with ERP, finance integrations, and real-time inventory/sales synchronisation. Background in BI/reporting dashboard development for finance, HR, and operations. Strong grounding in compliance, quarterly access reviews, and security best practices. Proven experience in vendor management and SaaS contract optimisation. Experience running Agile development cycles and managing backlogs. Knowledge of omni-channel retail, logistics, and B2C/B2B Shopify environments.
Technical Skills

Custom Shopify app development and Shopify Plus expertise. Experience with APIs, web services, integration tools, and automation platforms. Knowledge of SaaS/cloud app administration and subscription/licensing management. Familiarity with backup, recovery, and workflow automation tools. Experience with project/workflow management platforms such as Monday.com.
Soft Skills

Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. Strong organisational, leadership, and reporting skills.
