DESCRIPTION OF ROLE The ROV Base Tooling Technician is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the assigned ROV tooling systems and equipment. They are responsible for ensuring that all ROV tooling tasks defined in the work scope are performed in accordance with internal and external requirements and that relevant Company documentation is completed.
All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within FUGRO and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices. This will include, but not be limited to:
Actively reporting all undesired events and safety observations using the Safety Observation system (Edit to reflect FUGRO Values).
Actively reporting non-conformances using the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) system.
Actively reporting and managing any unsafe act, condition or procedure or environmental unsafe acts and conditions to the line manager/base manager so that action can be taken to manage or minimise any and all risk.
All personnel are also expected to contribute to creating a culture of ethics and integrity within Fugro and ensure familiarity with and adherence to our Code of Conduct.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Generic Key Responsibilities & Activities
Take direction from the Technical Manager and other senior ROV personnel as applicable.
Preparation of Task Plans as directed by the Technical Manager.
Participate in development, familiarisation and debriefing sessions prior to mobilisation/ demobilisation.
Participate in specific projects/work tasks as required.
Attend company base to undertake preparation or repair work on ROV tooling systems prior to and/or upon completion of offshore operations.
Ensure the ROV tooling operations are executed within the constraints of the ROV Operational / Safety Procedures as guided by senior personnel.
AUTHORITY/DIMENSIONS
Operate within the Code of Conduct
Work within the parameters of responsibility outlined for the vessel in the Vessel Authority Matrix
Support standards and procedures for the ROV Function

KEY QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Completion of valid IMCA (or equivalent) ROV Certificate necessary for the specific geographical area of work
Minimum College-level qualification in Electrical / Mechanical / Electronic / Hydraulics Engineering or equivalent
Internal course on operation and maintenance of the Tooling equipment including permanently or semi permanently equipment installed on the system e.g. manipulator/toolskid.
Valid offshore medical suitable for geographical area of work
Valid offshore survival suitable for geographical area of work
