ROV Senior Pilot Technician

A number of exciting opportunities have arisen for ROV Senior Pilot Technicians to join us here at Fugro.

A Senior ROV Pilot Technician is responsible for onshore and offshore Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) operations on a worldwide basis, setting up maintaining, piloting and operating a range of ROVs.

The role:

The Senior ROV Pilot Technician will be responsible for operating and maintaining ROV systems offshore, ensuring that components are operational to conduct investigations, inspections and under-water interventions in accordance with the project deliverables and applicable regulations.

Who you'll be working with:

While offshore, depending on the nature of the project, you may be working closely with the team of Surveyors and Engineers to ensure all ROV equipment is working effectively and data is collected efficiently and accurately. You will communicate regularly with the team onboard the vessels.

Here's what a typical day would be like:

· Assisting with the ROV launch and recovery operations · Piloting the ROV and operating manipulators in a range of subsea conditions · Fault finding and maintenance of ROV control and navigation systems · Carrying out electrical and mechanical umbilical terminations · Coordinating and collating dive records

Who we're looking for: Essential · Must have minimum 2 years of experience in the position as ROV Pilot Technician at offshore worksites · Comprehensive understanding of mobilizations', operations and fault finding of work-class and eyeball specification ROVs · Nationally recognized technical or trade qualification and / or appropriate level national vocational qualification in one or more of the following subjects: electrical, electronics, hydraulics, mechanics · Ability to work offshore for prolonged periods of time · Must hold a relevant Senior ROV Pilot Technician or Pilot Technician competency certificate · Holds valid Offshore Medical Certificate · Holds valid Opito approved Offshore Survival Certificate · Self motivated and a practical problem solver · Good spoken and written English communications skills
