Role: Senior Architect - Retail Department: Studio Team Location: Dubai Reporting to: Director Job Purpose: The primary focus of the position is to add design value to the Studio Team's deliverables (LOD drawings, Design Review and Tenant Manuals) whilst actively reviewing drawings, creating LOD's and creating manuals. The Senior Architect will be required to interact with the site Retail Delivery Teams as well as with the tenant's design team to align design goals and monitor implementation of solutions. Leadership and presentation skill is important. Primary Objectives: 1. Maintains professional knowledge of the assets in order to support the delivery of the Design Review product: 1.1 Studies the Design Criteria Manual to ensure a full understanding of the requirements and areas for potential design enhancement opportunities; 1.2 Understands the Asset design review process and scope of deliverables to be provided by Vindico; 1.3 Conducts physical site visits for familiarization with each Asset design; 1.4 Retains an awareness of the latest Building requirements in order to monitor compliance of submissions across multiple Assets; 1.5 Maintains an awareness of Asset documentation including, (but not limited to), Asset Building Construction Documents, Design and Technical Guides, Contractor Fit-out Guide and Tenant HOT's agreements (as applicable); 1.6 Reviews as-built shell & core drawings with a focus on understanding various design scenarios and details, based on unit location and type within each asset (as applicable); 2. Adds design value to the retail delivery process: 2.1 Supervises the assessments of all designs with the objective of "adding design value" to the overall retail design outcomes where ever possible; 2.2 Identifies opportunities for design "enhancement" of the brand application(s) to the built environment, taking into account sight lines, interfaces, and overall impact etc; 2.3 Ensure each Asset design strategy / vision, is adhered to, highlighting areas of potential conflict, to the Retail Delivery Team and Asset Team for any brand design proposals submitted for review (as necessary); 3. Demonstrates attention to detail during the design review; providing consistency to all stakeholders: 3.1 Studies concept and detailed design submissions against the Design Guide and (Technical Guide principles) for compliance, consistency and to highlight variances; 3.2 Ensures that the Design and (Technical Guide principles) are adhered to throughout the review process unless instructed by Vindico's management. 3.3 Coordinates (via the Retail Delivery Team) with the Tenant, Leasing, Legal, & Asset Teams as requested / required; 3.4 Completes on-site inspections of design fit-outs to ensure "as built fit-outs" reflect the approved design, and produces snagging reports as requested / required; 4. Adopts appropriate methods of communication to ensure that messages are relayed in the intended manner: 4.1 Manages the production of design reviews to the Vindico format of electronic drawing mark-ups, cross-referenced to concept and detailed design standard form, making sure comments or sketches that are easily interpreted by the stakeholder 4.2 Communicates positively with Design Review Team and other Teams involved, maintaining team work and a collaborative approach to the design review process; 4.3 Attends Assets update meetings (as requested / required) to review programs, design issues and support general team co-ordination; 4.4 When required, meets with Tenants to decipher issues they may be facing to achieve submissions approval and offer (where necessary) alternative solutions where needed; 4.5 Provides support to the Tenants through the Retail Delivery Team where site conditions may require the alteration to approved drawing. 5. Effectively manages the Design Review Team deliverables in line with specified weekly targets 5.1 Manages the reviews and, when required, reviews directly design submissions against development documentation within the specified time frame, making sure the review process is correct and complete 5.2 Provides reports to provide current status on all projects 5.3 Manages the constant update of design review Asset(s) trackers to ensure current status for issue to the client and extraction of data for monthly Vindico invoicing. 5.4 Ensures any design approval delays and the cause are reported to the RDM and Asset Team (as applicable) for resolution, making sure they are also captured on the design review Asset programme tracker 5.5 Monitor the professional development of the studio team members and provide appraisals when required

• Preferred - Masters in Architecture from premium institute / Western education
