Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Keep abreast of technical standards, policies and regulations impacting the sector as well as changes in the applicable legislation.
- Prepare advisories and keep the business informed of relevant standards and regulations and changes thereto.
- Submit periodic compliance and utilization returns to the company\xe2\x80\x99s regulators in a timely and responsive manner.
- Ensure that the necessary frequencies and regulatory resources are timeously obtained.
- Ensure that licenses are applied for and renewed timeously.
- Process applications for resources and product approvals by the company\xe2\x80\x99s regulators as per the needs of the business.
- Collaborate with business units to understand their needs and advocate for requisite resources and approvals with the relevant authorities.
- Enlighten the authorities on the company\xe2\x80\x99s needs and challenges, and how the regulatory framework impacts the company and the telecommunications industry, including highlighting necessary amendments.
- Degree in Telecommunications Engineering or other relevant technical field.
- Degree in Law
- At least 6 years relevant experience in telecommunications industry/environment, three of which should be at a senior management position.
- Extensive knowledge of laws, policies and technical standards applicable to the telecommunications industry applicable to the telecommunications industry.
- Extensive knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure and services.
