A Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. The role involves estimating costs, preparing tender documents, managing contracts, tracking project budgets, and ensuring that construction projects are completed within their projected budgets and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies for projects.
Manage tendering processes including bill of quantities (BOQ), bid analysis, and contractor negotiations.
Monitor ongoing project costs and assess variations and claims.
Certify contractor payments and prepare final accounts.
Liaise with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure financial control of projects.
Manage contractual documents including contracts, subcontracts, and agreements.
Conduct risk and value management and cost control.
Review, validate, and track project progress in alignment with contractual obligations.
Mentor junior quantity surveyors and oversee their work.
Ensure compliance with legal and quality standards.
