Overview of the role:

The purpose of the position is to provide support and guidance throughout the life cycle of the project and managing project funding sources and submitting bids.

Provide Technical guidance\'s in the project package (Fa\xc3\xa7ade / Steel works / MEP etc )

What you will do:

Responsible for:

• All Quantity Surveying duties including measurement, valuation and agreement of work sections.
• Preparation of interim applications for payment and internal valuations.
• Contract administration and settlement of subcontractors\' accounts.
• Administration of Subcontractor Variation Account
• Assessment of Subcontractor Claims with Planning support
• Assisting in preparation of loss and expense submissions.
• Provide junior staff with guidance on their job responsibilities.
• Negotiate with client representatives and other consultants
• Advise project management on contractual implications of intended courses of action
• Advise on commercial risks within the project or projects.
• Preparation of Contract Appraisal reports and End of Life Forecast
• Preparation of monthly management accounts (PRM) information
• Establish from Contract award the project \xe2\x80\x9cbudget to build\xe2\x80\x9d
• Identify variations and implement variation control process in liaison with the Design/Engineering/Operations and Planning teams
• Agreement of Variations with the Employer
• Ensure that contract documents are properly executed prior to project commencement
• Ensure that line manager is fully advised of any issue/risk which has arisen or might arise and which could affect the business/project
• As a member of a project team advising and providing strategic input and commercial expertise to support to the project
• Maintenance and delivery of the stated profits and margins
• Identify and calculation of appropriate risk and opportunity allowances and their active management

Safety, Quality & Environment

• Ensure that all relevant safety, quality and environmental procedures, instructions and controls are adhered to so that the safety, quality of services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed within AFC
• Continuous Improvement
• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of process and practices taking into account, the interests and benefits to Al Futtaim and its employees.

Other Task

• Any other reasonable request of work/ task as allocated by the Line Manager.

What equips you for the role:

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineer and/or Quantity Surveying
• Working towards Membership of Professional Body (RICS or CIOB), with a minimum intermediate Level Qualification
• Very good understanding of commercial and financial acumen
• Very good knowledge of one or more complex functional or business area

Minimum Experience:

• 5-8 years of work experience in which of 3 years in a similar role and capacity
• Track record of success in supporting a major contract over the value of AED 100mil, business unit or region and/or professional function
