Senior Quantity Surveyor, Dubai Site Based

Our client is an established Main Contractor specialising in large scale public realm, infrastructure, landscaping and civils projects for well-known clients in the Middle East. They are seeking a mid to senior level Quantity Surveyor with a strong track record on infrastructure projects (civils, roads, earthworks, shallow services/utilities) to join their supportive team on a large infrastructure project in Dubai. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing post contract activities and must be a team player with strong communication skills to work closely with various stakeholders, including consultant team and clients.

Responsibilities

• Monitor project budgets and expenditures throughout the construction stage
• Identify and report on any variations and follow appropriate contract procedures in relation to change orders etc
• Report on project budget as required, including attendance of meetings
• Evaluate and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractor
• Ensure that all contractual terms and conditions are understood and adhered to as per the contract requirements
• Sub-contractor payment certifications
• Assist in submission and release of bonds and guarantees as per terms
• Liaise closely with client QS as required
• Update correspondence, trackers and dashboards as required
• Assist in Final Account settlement
• Identify potential risks related to costs and provide proactive solutions to implement risk mitigation strategies
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project costs, contracts, and other relevant documents
• Prepare reports for management and stakeholders regarding project financial status

Requirements

• Bachelor\'s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or similar, MRICS advantageous
• Must have prior experience in civils and infrastructure projects
• Min 5 years Quantity Surveying with Main Contractor in the UAE
• Thorough knowledge of construction costs and contracts applicable to Middle East
• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal communication and written skills
• Proficient in relevant QS software applications e.g. Planswift, Microsoft Office, Candy etc
