Our client is an established Main Contractor specialising in large scale public realm, infrastructure, landscaping and civils projects for well-known clients in the Middle East. They are seeking a mid to senior level Quantity Surveyor with a strong track record on infrastructure projects (civils, roads, earthworks, shallow services/utilities) to join their supportive team on a large infrastructure project in Dubai. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing post contract activities and must be a team player with strong communication skills to work closely with various stakeholders, including consultant team and clients.
Responsibilities
Monitor project budgets and expenditures throughout the construction stage
Identify and report on any variations and follow appropriate contract procedures in relation to change orders etc
Report on project budget as required, including attendance of meetings
Evaluate and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractor
Ensure that all contractual terms and conditions are understood and adhered to as per the contract requirements
Sub-contractor payment certifications
Assist in submission and release of bonds and guarantees as per terms
Liaise closely with client QS as required
Update correspondence, trackers and dashboards as required
Assist in Final Account settlement
Identify potential risks related to costs and provide proactive solutions to implement risk mitigation strategies
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project costs, contracts, and other relevant documents
Prepare reports for management and stakeholders regarding project financial status
Requirements
Bachelor\'s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or similar, MRICS advantageous
Must have prior experience in civils and infrastructure projects
Min 5 years Quantity Surveying with Main Contractor in the UAE
Thorough knowledge of construction costs and contracts applicable to Middle East
Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal communication and written skills
Proficient in relevant QS software applications e.g. Planswift, Microsoft Office, Candy etc
