Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Purchase Engineer in our Purchasing team. The ideal candidate will manage supplier relationships, ensure timely procurement of materials and equipment, and contribute to optimizing the supply chain operations. This role is critical to maintaining product availability and supporting project and sales operations within a fast-paced distribution environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage the procurement of assigned categories, ensuring timely and cost-efficient purchasing.

2. Ensure compliance of contracts are in alignment with all brands being managed.

3. Ensure revised price list for suppliers is received from suppliers before year end and is also updated on SERA.

4. Issue purchase orders, track deliveries, and follow up on pending orders to ensure timely receipt of goods.

5. Maintain TAT of 1 day in responding to Request for Quotation (RFQ).

6. Evaluate supplier performance and maintain a preferred supplier list.

7. Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Planning, Warehouse, Logistics) to understand material requirements.

8. Resolve discrepancies with invoices, delivery issues, and quality concerns in coordination with suppliers and internal teams.

9. Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation in the ERP system.

10. Suggest improvements to procurement processes, policies, and cost-saving opportunities.

11. Support junior team members and act as a mentor when required.

12. Assist with general procurement activities whenever required.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial or related field).

7+ years of purchasing experience, preferably within a distribution environment in the UAE or GCC.

Strong knowledge of purchasing processes, supply chain management, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).

Strong negotiation and vendor relationship skills.

Knowledge of UAE import regulations, Incoterms, and customs clearance processes.
