Procurement Engineer - Recycling & Waste Solutions + Heavy Lift Logistics

Position Overview

Heavy Machinery Viqa (HMV) is seeking a highly experienced

Senior Procurement Engineer

to manage the technical procurement of recycling machinery, crushers, heavy equipment spare parts, and logistics assets such as boom loaders, cranes, and trailers. The ideal candidate has a

mechanical engineering background

, hands-on experience with crushers and recycling plant components, and a strong global supplier network. This role demands someone with exceptional sourcing speed, strong organizational skills, and the drive to deliver reliable results under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

Source, negotiate, and procure technical equipment and spare parts for

crushers (jaw, cone, impact, vertical shaft impactors)

,

screeners

,

feeders

,

conveyors

, and

complete recycling plant lines

. Procure and manage inventory for

crusher consumables

such as

wear plates, hammers, blow bars, jaw dies, mantles, liners, belts, bearings, shafts, hydraulic motors, gearboxes, filters, and seals

. Maintain a wide network of

international and local suppliers

, ensuring competitive pricing, quality, and lead time efficiency. Develop and issue

RFQs/RFPs

, perform cost analyses, and manage

comparative evaluation

for both OEM and aftermarket parts and services. Arrange and oversee

heavy equipment transportation

, including

flatbeds, lowbeds, extendable trailers, boom loaders, mobile cranes

, and specialized abnormal load carriers. Handle

logistics documentation

and coordinate with customs clearance agents for import/export of machinery and equipment under

correct Incoterms and UAE regulations

. Analyze

engineering drawings

,

technical specifications

, and

BOMs (Bill of Materials)

to ensure accurate procurement and compatibility with existing systems and plants. Expedite

urgent breakdown parts

, critical machine components, and ensure minimal operational downtime through smart planning and proactive communication. Track and monitor

global market trends

, commodity pricing (steel, alloys, hydraulic systems), and shipping costs to guide purchasing strategy and cost-saving initiatives. Use and maintain procurement workflows through

ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Odoo)

and ensure all procurement activities are documented and compliant with company policy. Prepare and submit

supplier evaluation reports

, maintain procurement KPIs, and assist in onboarding reliable and approved vendors. Coordinate directly with Engineering, Projects, and Site Operations to forecast demands and provide fit-for-purpose, technically sound sourcing solutions. Conduct

technical and commercial negotiations

with a deep understanding of mechanical systems and equipment functions, ensuring long-term supplier partnerships.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

(required); professional certifications in Procurement/Supply Chain (e.g., CIPS, CSCP) are a plus. Minimum

8 years of experience

in technical procurement with direct experience in

crusher and recycling plant equipment

. Strong understanding of

mechanical systems

, fabrication components, and spare parts used in heavy-duty industrial equipment. Demonstrated ability to manage

international logistics and heavy-lift transport coordination

. Proficient in the use of ERP/MRP systems and technical drawing interpretation (AutoCAD/SolidWorks exposure is a plus). Deep understanding of

UAE customs, transport regulations

, and import/export procedures. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask and drive results independently.

Passionate about sourcing and technical problem-solving. Known for working fast and efficiently under pressure. Hands-on, organized, and system-driven. Trusted to "get the job done" with minimal supervision.
