Terms of Reference1. General Background The Private Sector Partnerships Service (PSP) sits within UNHCR's Division of External Relations (DER) and is responsible for mobilizing resources for refugees from the private sector. UNHCR has developed a Private Sector Fundraising Strategy 2018-2025 which has the ambition of growing PSP into a service capable of generating $1 Billion annually and identifies priority fundraising markets and regions.

As part of this strategy, and in order to achieve the ambitious objectives of mobilizing necessary resources for UNHCR, PSP's Private Partnerships and Philanthropy (PPH) Section develops and strengthens long-term partnerships with companies, foundations and private philanthropists. As part of a wider fundraising team, the primary role of PPH colleagues is to seek various forms of support from PPH donors: securing funding for UNHCR programmes and projects will be considered a priority, but the work also includes leveraging the capacities of these partnerships beyond funding, in order to build long-lasting holistic partnerships bringing various forms of support to UNHCR and to persons of concern, such as advocacy, visibility, expertise, innovation and public engagement.

2. Purpose and Scope of Assignment Under the overall supervision of PSP Officer, the main tasks of the PSP Senior Associate will be the following: - Develop and Implement the Major Donor strategy and donor journeys in the UAE in accordance with the overall PSP unit goals - Develop and manage fundraising appeals for Major individual donors throughout the year by coordinating with the Middle Donors team and the PSP team. - Advice on and implement best practices for donor development and retention including market segmentation and Donor Propensity Model to major donors and set strategies to maximize ROI from Middle donors. This includes scheduling and setting objectives for individual research, cultivation, solicitation, and contacts with high-priority donors and prospects in the UAE: average calls, e-mails and meetings as deemed appropriate for each band of the middle to the major donor program. - Produce in conjunction with the PSP Officer the Middle - Major Value Donor budget and provide financial forecasts. - Monitor the success of activities delegated by the supervisor according to approved plans, which includes keeping track of income raised, prospect pipeline and income projections to ensure PSP targets are met. - Manage the monthly income from Major Donors including recording and earmarking. - Assist PSP team members with identifying new Major donor prospects from the corporate employee engagement and on the ground interaction acquisition pool. - Develop tailored products for different sub-segments of major/middle donors. - Prepare and submit regular reports on all contacts with donors, prospects, and volunteers and maintain sufficient records, contact reports, and background data to facilitate periodic reports on activities from ROI. - Build solid stewardship or donor care plans aimed at increasing engagement of existing High Net worth Individuals (HNWIs) donors, ensuring that they will remain loyal to the organization in the long term. - Manage fundraising and networking events to attract new prospects and maintain close relations with HNWIs in UAE. - Promote a collegial atmosphere within the organization, working cooperatively with all fundraising officers and staff to help them and the department attain their overall financial and stewardship goals. - Support in communicating with the new potential donors to raise funds and awareness on the refugee cause. - Support in creating, compiling and recording (Salesforce) cultivation plans for priority prospects. - Support in preparing the necessary research and materials for upcoming meetings with prospects and follow up with account managers on meeting outcomes and due tasks. - Drafting and shaping project concept notes and proposals. - Communicating accurate and timely information on UNHCR's programs and activities in conformity with the organization's financial needs and priorities. - Ensure timely and accurate reporting on the implementation of funded projects, by obtaining, drafting and compiling information from relevant sources within UNHCR. - Assist in modifying and tailoring grant and cooperation agreements. - Assist in providing UAE perspective and inputs for the Annual and Regional Strategic Plans. - Perform other related duties as required.

3. Qualifications and Experience

a. Education Secondary education with preferably a degree in Marketing/Business Administration, in Marketing or Communications, and/or other related fields.

b. Work Experience - Minimum 4 years relevant experience with High School Diploma; or 2 years with Bachelor or equivalent or higher, - Experience in fundraising/development and communications with a focus on donor management (major donors, corporate partners and faith-based giving), preferably with UNHCR or another UN Agency - Experience in account and relationship management. - Experience working with individuals and business leaders in the Gulf region, and strong knowledge of the Gulf and Arab market and cultural trends.

c. Key Competencies - Excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills are essential, both in English and Arabic. - Strong passion for refugee affairs, and for UNHCR's work. - Excellent research, analytical, drafting and communication skills. - Awareness of humanitarian affairs, and good writing skills. - Attention to detail and a results-oriented team player. - Ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities within specified timeframes. - Excellent computer skills and practical experience in working with Microsoft Office and CRMs such as Salesforce.

d. Language - Fluency in written and spoken Arabic language is Essential and the candidate should have excellent command over the English language.
