Description

The Senior Project Manager will report to the Turner & Townsend Project Director internally and the client representative at a project level. The incumbent will be based in Sharjah and may be required to travel across the UAE region.The Senior Project Manager will act as the key, day to day client interface, ensuring that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality, sustainability and safety standards.We are looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated individual who has excellent written and verbal communication skills and who wants to make a difference to the Renewable Energy sector within the Project Management division.PurposeTo manage the development and execution of the assigned projects, achieving world class levels of QHSE, business and manpower performance during the execution phase within budget, meeting stringent schedule, demonstrating innovation in technology definition, and coordinating complex interfaces. The role has potential to continue for technical support during the first 2-years of operations ensuring a complaint O&M system to performance requirements and best industry practices. Projects manager must be hands-on thus excellent communication and technical background are key criteria for selection.ResponsibilitiesEnsure project execution and delivery within time and budget to the desired standards and stated objectives.Manage assigned project in order to ensure that they are executed and results are delivered within time, budget and required standards.Coordinate different project activities in order to ensure timely and accurate execution.Monitor and control project expenditures to maintain financial performance within approved budgetary limits.Monitor and control project progress in order to escalate any issues and take corrective actions.Provide Commercial and Contract Management Support throughout the different stages of the project.Manage transfer of all subcontracts and purchase orders with the support of the Company's resources.Manage the required contracts including those already in place, potential scope of work, outstanding payments or claims, suggested commercial set-up, schedule integration and interface, and contract management with the support of the Company's resources.Provide Technical and Integrity Management Support throughout the different stages of the project.Oversee the work of Contractor to ensure that it meets the technical requirements (safety, integrity, operability and performance) and follows good engineering practices.Assuring the safety and integrity of technical solution and for the determination of any technical issues that cannot be resolved Consultant.Ensure that the Project and facilities complies with all statutory requirements and defined Stakeholder standards.Fully brief project stakeholders throughout the different stages of the project.Timely inform the executive team and stakeholders of any project delays and identify critical issues that need to be resolved to keep project completion on track.Prepare informative weekly and monthly project progress reports as required and to the desired standard.Prepare for project steering committee reviews in order to provide the required updates.Prepare project performance status, cost control, staffing and programme reports.Ensure and contribute to effective risk and issue management.Contribute to the development and implement work plans to meet project dynamic needs and program reports.Participate and develop project lessons learned in order to contribute to risk management and mitigation.Manage takeover and acceptance by the O&M partner of (i) the facility and all other materials including spare parts, surplus material, fuel and consumables; and (ii) Design-Build documentations, software and passwords, permits and licenses necessary.Prepare relevant updates and reports.Support Quality Health and Safety Environment (QHSE) activities, policies and objectives of the client and compliance with the laws and regulations of UAE.QualificationsRelevant engineering degree with emphasis on analytics (engineering degree is a must).PMI / PMP or PRINCE2 certification is an added value.More than 15 years project and contract management experience in power, oil and gas or utility EPC projects in commercial technologies, engineering company.Experience in managing high performing multidisciplinary teams Experience in the successful delivery of projects on site.Must have worked with Consultant role for multiple years.
