Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Technical Buyer cum Logistics Officer with a background in heavy equipment, waste management, or construction. The ideal candidate will manage the end-to-end procurement and logistics process, from sourcing and evaluating suppliers to arranging transport and delivery of materials and machinery, ensuring cost-efficiency and timely execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement / Buying
Source and procure heavy equipment parts, machinery, tools, and consumables.
Evaluate technical specifications, compatibility, and supplier performance.
Negotiate prices, payment terms, and lead times with both local and international vendors.
Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships and backup supplier networks.
Prepare and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
Monitor order status, confirm deliveries, and handle delays or discrepancies.
Logistics / Supply Chain
Coordinate and manage local and international shipments.
Handle import/export processes, customs clearance, and compliance with shipping regulations.
Liaise with transport vendors to arrange suitable equipment such as low beds, flatbeds, and cranes (of various capacities) based on load size and project needs.
Maintain a directory of reliable logistics and transport vendors and negotiate competitive rates.
Track deliveries and manage scheduling to ensure on-time arrivals.
Oversee inventory receipts, GRNs, and documentation flow.
Technical Coordination
Understand the specifications and operational requirements of heavy machinery and their parts.
Communicate with engineers and operations teams to validate technical needs.
Support with the review of technical submittals and compliance documents when required.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within heavy equipment, waste management, or construction industries.
Proven experience in technical purchasing and coordinating transport logistics, including interaction with equipment transport vendors.
Strong knowledge of logistics planning, transport equipment, and customs regulations.
ERP system knowledge (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and proficiency in MS Office.
Valid UAE driving license (preferred).
