Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Engineer with a strong background in construction and civil engineering to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing the procurement process for construction projects, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services. This role requires a deep understanding of construction practices, civil engineering specifications, and strong negotiation skills. Responsibilities:

Strategic Procurement:

Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project requirements and organizational objectives. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand construction and civil engineering specifications, ensuring procurement plans meet technical and quality standards. Supplier Management:

Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain. Contract Negotiation:

Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards. Cost Analysis and Budgeting:

Conduct thorough cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Collaborate with project teams to develop and manage procurement budgets, monitoring expenses against approved budgets. Risk Management:

Identify potential risks in the procurement process and develop mitigation strategies. Stay abreast of market trends, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory changes to proactively manage procurement risks. Quality Assurance:

Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that procured materials and services meet required standards and specifications. Implement and maintain quality assurance processes within the procurement function. Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier performance evaluations. Generate regular reports on procurement metrics, cost savings, and performance indicators. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. Proven experience of 8 years and above as a Procurement Engineer in the construction industry, with a focus on civil engineering projects. In-depth knowledge of construction materials, specifications, and procurement processes. Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment. Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Skills: Professional certifications in procurement or supply chain management. Experience with international procurement and global supply chain management. Knowledge of sustainable and environmentally friendly procurement practices.
