title : Senior Process Engineer in the oil and gas industry: Job Summary: The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership to optimize process performance and ensure safe and efficient operations in the oil and gas industry. The role involves leading and coordinating cross-functional teams, conducting process simulations, developing and implementing process improvement initiatives, and providing mentorship and guidance to junior engineers. Responsibilities:
Contract length: 12 months Application Question(s):
- Conduct process simulations and modeling to optimize existing processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide technical leadership to troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues and ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams involved in projects, including design, construction, commissioning, and start-up.
- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to increase plant reliability, safety, and productivity.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and other technical staff.
- Review and approve process design documents, including PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and datasheets.
- Participate in HAZOP and other safety reviews to identify and mitigate process safety risks.
- Collaborate with other departments such as operations, maintenance, and HSE to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Evaluate new technologies and processes for potential implementation in the facility.
- Develop and maintain process design standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Contribute to the development of long-term asset strategies and plans.
- Represent the company in technical discussions with customers, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
- Lead investigations into process incidents and develop action plans to prevent reoccurrence.
- Conduct technical and economic evaluations of process alternatives to support decision-making.
- Monitor and report key performance indicators related to process efficiency, reliability, and safety.
- Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with at least 7 years of experience in process engineering.
- Strong technical knowledge of process design, simulation, and optimization tools.
- Experience in leading and coordinating cross-functional teams involved in projects.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
