Senior Piping Engineer
Job Summary:
The Senior Piping Engineer leads the piping engineering effort, focusing on the technical integrity of piping systems. They are responsible for stress analysis, material selection, equipment layout, and ensuring systems are designed for safety and operability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the piping engineering team and manage the piping design deliverables.
- Perform and review pipe stress analysis using software like CAESAR II.
- Specify piping classes, material specifications, and valve/component requirements.
- Develop and review Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and piping layouts.
- Manage and approve piping support design.
- Resolve complex technical issues related to piping flexibility, nozzle loads, and thermal expansion.
- Coordinate with stress analysts, designers, and other engineering disciplines.
- Provide technical input for procurement of piping materials.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng./P.E.) license is highly desirable.
- 10+ years of experience in piping engineering, with a strong background in stress analysis.
- Expertise in CAESAR II or similar software and deep knowledge of ASME B31.3 code.
