Overview / Responsibilities: Wood is currently looking for a Senior Piping Designer. This is a Home Office position based in Dubai.
Primary Role:
Primary Role:
- To promote safe behaviour at all times.
- Maybe required to perform site surveys and data gathering exercises at various project locations.
- To provide discipline specific design and drafting services that meet the Project’s, and applicable statutory and regulatory, requirements.
- To provide technical support to the site team during design, engineering and construction.
- Preparation of Plot Plan and Equipment Layouts
- Piping layouts for multi-tiered process plant / off site areas
- Nozzle Orientation Drawing
- General arrangement of Pipe Rack
- Understanding for site survey techniques
- Hands on experience of utilizing the underground survey drawings
- Good knowledge of pipe supports and its applications
- Understanding the impact of piping design on the construction
- Generation of material take off
- Preparation of Supports drawings and update as per stress markups. Site as built drawings
- Effective use of the Plant 3D software for pipe routing. Equipment Modeling, Independent Pipe routing, field/shop weld, interference generation and develop the Isometric with bill of material
- Site survey scope of work
- Identify and locate Tie-in`s as per P&ID
- Developing piping Isometrics and Piping GA in AutoCAD 2D
- Diploma or HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or relevant subject)
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience
- Experience in FEED, Brownfield, Upstream Oil
- Good knowledge of PDS, SP3d, AutoCAD and MicroStation.
- Experience in Site Survey Activities and techniques
- Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
- Onshore Oil and Gas related Mechanical and/or Piping design experience
- Thorough awareness of international codes and standards used for Mechanical and/or Piping design in Oil & Gas industry.
- A determination to continually improve safety in all aspects of plant design and operation
- Extensive experience with prefabricated, packaged plant design
