Job Description

Due to anticipated growth throughout 2022, Wood is currently inviting applications for a Senior Piping Designer with experience in oil&gas industry to be based in UAE

Below are some key responsibilities and duties:

+ Carry out assigned pipeline design work as part of a multi-discipline project team

+ To provide discipline specific design and drafting services that meet the Project and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements

+ Assume responsibility for the Pipeline design/drafting scope for the project

+ Develop cost effective pipeline design and drawings

+ To coordinate with other disciplines for interdisciplinary checks

+ Display a working knowledge of industry standard drafting practices, good mechanical aptitude and general knowledge of engineering

+ To prepare pipeline route studies, desktop studies based on survey inputs

+ To prepare Pipeline Overall Route Maps, Key Plans, Alignment Sheets, Station Approach drawings Alignment sheets, pipeline typical construction drawings, crossing details, etc. in accordance with project specifications, international cods and standards

+ Preparation of Pipeline Detail / Bulk MTO

+ To carry out detailed high quality site visits, pipeline route surveys and associated data collection

+ Preparation of Piping input Drawings for On-plot / off-plot interface Areas at Process Plant

+ Coordination with Topographical Contractors and Site personnel for preparation of AFC Alignment sheets

+ Diploma qualification or HND in Mechanical Engineering

+ Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in an engineering design company

+ Knowledge of site-based project work involving field engineering and construction

+ Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred

+ Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage

+ Previous Onshore Oil and Gas related Pipeline design experience

+ Thorough awareness of International Design Guidelines and Standards

+ A determination to continually improve safety in all aspects of plant design and operation

+ Familiarity with typical software packages that are used in preparing pipeline design drawings (Auto CAD, Google Earth, Microstation, Arc-GIS)

+ Experience in pipeline routing of aboveground and buried pipelines in both sabkha and non-sabkha areas.
