Job Description

ConductsPhysical Therapy (PT) evaluation of patients referred by the Hospitalphysicians. Develops and implements PT programs. Promotes the restoration ofphysical, functional, psychosocial abilities and aids in the adjustment todisability. Assists in the training of Physical Therapist and PhysicalTherapist Assistants.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
1.Reviews PT request and patient’s records todetermine nature of therapy to be given. 2.Performs objective clinical assessment todetermine treatment goals and objectives. 3.Plans and administers PT programs topatients to maximize function, relieve pain, and prevent disability. Developstreatment protocols and home programs, as appropriate. 4.Administers treatments involvingapplication of physical agent, modalities as well as manual therapy techniquesas indicated. Supervises execution of treatment plan by subordinate personnel.Evaluates and records effects of treatments, response, and progress. 5.Consults with physician and other healthcarepersonnel regarding treatment objectives. Liaises with and acts as a resourcefor other healthcare personnel regarding issues relating to PT. 6.Instructs patients and caregivers in homeprogram for improving functional activities and self-care. 7.Provides peer review to staff physicaltherapist rotating through area of specialty and provides information for theirperformance evaluations. 8.Incorporates quality improvement strategiesin clinical practice. 9.Follows all Hospital related policies andprocedures. 10.Participates in self and others’ education,training, and development, as applicable. 11.Performs other related dutiesas assigned.
Education
Master’s,Bachelor’s, or Associate Degree/Diploma in Physical Therapy is required.
Experience Required
  • Grade 09:
Two (2) years of related experience withMaster’s, four (4) years with Bachelor’s, or six (6) years with AssociateDegree/Diploma is required.
  • Grade 10:
  • Four (4) years as Senior Physical Therapistat KFSH&RC
  • Average of annual performance appraisal atleast (3.5) for the last four (4) years
  • One hundred (100) hours ofcumulative continued medical education [CME].
Other Requirements(Certificates)
  • Current Registration from country of originand Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
  • Obtains continuing education in assignedspecialty area and/or certificates of added qualification.
  • Attends courses in subspecialty area.
  • Presents scientificpapers/posters in accredited scientific events (symposia and conferences).
