We are looking for a

Senior Petrophysicist

for one of our clients with the following details:

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Start Date: ASAP (Flexible)

Contract Duration: 1 year, extendable. (1 month notice period)

Qualification and Experience Required:

MSc in Petrophysics, Geoscience, Petroleum Engineering, or equivalent in related field. 15+ years of experience in petrophysical analysis, with a strong focus on unconventional plays. Proficient in core-log integration, well log interpretation, and petrophysical software (Techlog). Experience in data QC, well planning, and cross-functional collaboration. Strong communication skills and a track record of mentoring technical staff.
Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Petrophysicist with a strong background in unconventional reservoir evaluation. The successful candidate will be responsible for advanced core-log integration, reservoir characterization, real-time operational support, and data quality assurance across a large portfolio of wells. This role will play a critical part in optimizing horizontal landing zones and supporting strategic development decisions.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct detailed core-log integration and petrophysical interpretation to identify optimal zones for fracturing. Knowledge in Borehole image interpretation and Geomechanics. Perform resource assessments using legacy and new well data. Evaluate large-scale unconventional prospects, including analysis of large number of wells with core data. Identify and assess target zones for horizontal well placement, providing real-time operational support during drilling. Manage and QC raw and interpreted petrophysical data across all unconventional wells. Support data archiving and system integration in collaboration with the Data Management Department. Liaise with operator technical experts to ensure robust integration of petrophysical and geoscience inputs. Provide oversight and technical guidance on core analysis programs. Mentor and coach geoscience staff on petrophysical workflows and best practices. Recommend and review wellbore data acquisition programs and ensure data quality from acquisition to interpretation. Monitor and support unconventional joint venture (JV) concessions from a petrophysical perspective.
