Senior Test Automation Engineer

Senior performance Test engineer with deep experience in NeoLoad to own the end-to-end performance testing lifecycle--planning, scenario design, execution, and reporting. he will translate business peaks and user journeys into realistic workloads, run controlled tests, and convert findings into clear, evidence-based recommendations. Using test results and trend data, he'll quantify bottlenecks, prioritize fixes, and advise on capacity, scalability, and SLAs. He'll partner with product, developers, and infrastructure teams, communicate insights to both technical and executive audiences, and track measurable improvements in response times, throughput, error rates, and system stability.

Roles & Responsibilities

Own the performance strategy: Define objectives, SLAs/SLOs, success criteria, and risk areas for critical user journeys and peak periods. Translate business into workloads: Convert product flows and traffic forecasts into realistic test scenarios (load, stress, spike, endurance) with clear ramp-up/hold/ramp-down models. Plan and prepare test assets: Ensure environment readiness, data strategy, and access; establish repeatable baselines and comparison runs. Design and execute tests in NeoLoad: Build maintainable scripts and workload mixes; schedule baseline, pre-release, and proof-of-fix executions. Establish observability: Coordinate application, database, and infrastructure telemetry and logs to enable meaningful analysis and quick root-cause isolation. Analyze results and quantify impact: Identify bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and error hotspots; express findings in numbers (e.g., response times, throughput, error rates, resource utilization). Make evidence-based recommendations: Propose prioritized tuning actions with expected gains, trade-offs, and validated outcomes; articulate capacity headroom and scalability options. Report clearly to all audiences: Produce concise executive summaries and detailed engineering reports; track trends over time and highlight regressions versus baselines. Embed performance into delivery: Integrate performance checks into release processes and CI/CD gates; define go/no-go criteria and readiness checkpoints. Governance and documentation: Maintain versioned scripts, scenarios, data sets, and runbooks; ensure traceability from requirements to tests and outcomes. Stakeholder leadership: Partner with product, engineering, infrastructure, security, and vendors to align test scope, timelines, and remediation plans. Mentor and elevate the team: Coach engineers on workload modeling, scripting discipline, and effective analysis; review test assets for quality and maintainability. Continuous improvement: Refine baselines, optimize test coverage based on risk and usage, and drive post-mortems with measurable follow-ups. Risk management: Surface performance risks early, propose mitigations, and maintain a visible risk register tied to business impact. Compliance & data handling: Uphold data privacy and environment policies during test design, execution, and reporting.

Requirements

Qualification and Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software/Systems Engineering, or Information Systems Tricentis NeoLoad certification (e.g., NeoLoad Certified Professional) is preferred. ISTQB Foundation plus Advanced Test Analyst/Technical Test Analyst or ISTQB Performance Testing is preferred.

Minimum Experience/Skills Required:

7+ years of experience in performance testing of enterprise applications. 4+ years of hands-on experience in NeoLoad, including scripting, correlation, test execution, and monitoring. Proven ability to translate user journeys into workload models (load, stress, spike, endurance/soak). Strong results analysis: turning metrics (response time, throughput, error rate, resource utilization) into clear, prioritized recommendations. Solid grasp of web & API fundamentals (HTTP/REST, caching, sessions, CDNs), basic networking (latency, bandwidth), and concurrency concepts. Proficiency with APM/observability tools and system logs to isolate bottlenecks across app, DB, and infrastructure layers. Working knowledge of database performance basics (query patterns, indexing, connection pools). Experience integrating performance checks into CI/CD (e.g., Azure DevOps/Jenkins/GitLab) with automated pass/fail gates and trend reporting. * Clear written and verbal communication for both technical and executive audiences.
