Our client, an International leading firm are recruiting a Senior Patent Attorney for their Dubai office.

With at least 6yrs PQE, fluent English and a background in engineering or sciences (preferably electrical, mechanical or computer engineering),

• Qualified patent attorney/agent in a western jurisdiction;
• Legal qualification is a plus;
• Excellent written and communication skills;
• Fluent in English
• Business development acumen;
• Regional / non regional experience: A plus, but not essential

Duties & Responsibilities

• Overseeing, managing and executing IP work, including patent procurement & prosecution, legal opinions, litigation, transactional and contractual;
• Overviewing international, regional and national patent portfolios for clients;
• Use of their international experience, client contacts, to win new IP work including patent portfolios, prosecution work, regulatory, commercial and transactional work;
• Developing and pitching for marketing purposes including patent protection proposals and plans and approach existing and new clients with those proposals and plans;
• Supervising, managing and mentoring junior associates and paralegals in office;
• Working closely with marketing team and partners to develop new work flows / streams from local/regional markets and internationally; and
• Developing new clients with a focus on the industries prominent in the region such as technology, oil and gas, pharma, FMCGs, manufacturing, construction and F&B.
