Job summary
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Solutions Architect to build successful technical partnerships with our top Software/Technology partners in EMEA. This is a highly technical position for someone who can dive deep, build cloud-optimized architectures, develop a strategy with AWS business development teams, and influence our product roadmap by working closely with AWS engineering teams.

You will collaborate with AWS partners to enable them in building scalable, secure, and high performance solutions on AWS. The ideal candidate will possess the technical acumen that enables them to engage at all levels of an organization as well the ability to dive deep and build cloud-optimized architectures.

You are comfortable 'solutioneering' with a roomful of peers as they are briefing an executive audience. You will get the opportunity to work with a wide array of innovative partners from well-established tech giants to startups born in the cloud, to help prioritize product roadmaps, assist with architecture design, and help promote their products. You will also have the opportunity to build your cloud brand, leaving your mark with whitepapers, webinars, event presence, and innovative new patents for what could potentially be a future AWS product or feature.

This position can be located anywhere in EMEA London, Amsterdam, Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Tel Aviv, Munich, Berlin, Lisbon, Dubai....

Job responsibilities:
We are looking for someone who is passionate and will:

• Engage C-level executives to define and execute cloud strategies
• Advise partners on opportunities to grow their business with AWS
• Provide architectural guidance for startups that are building products on AWS
• Write technical white papers, blog posts, and provide thought leadership to partner product & engineering teams
• Capture and share field learnings with AWS engineering teams
• Promote partners internally and externally with webinars and speaking opportunities
• Turn big ideas into products and services, and help influence the direction of AWS

You should be a domain expert, and have a broad and deep set of skills that can be leveraged. Experience working directly with customers is required, and prior experience working with partner communities is a plus. Previous AWS experience is preferred but not required. Strong public speaking and writing skills are required. Up to 30% travel is required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• The right person will be highly technical and analytical with 7+ years of hands on experience within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, web applications, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)
• 3+ years experience with technologies related to the cloud ecosystem
• Working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
• Technical Degree (Computer Science, Maths, Engineering or equivalent) and/or relevant work experience
• Verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Recent experience working at or with startups is a plus
• In depth working knowledge in a technology domain such as distributed internet-scale web or mobile applications, DevOps, Serverless, Big Data, Analytics, Machine Learning, highly secured workloads etc.
• Demonstrated ability to work strategically in the face of business, product, and technical challenges
• Executive presence, polished presentation skills, and stellar written communication
• Goals and metrics oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
• AWS Certification, eg. AWS Solutions Architect Associate
