The key objectives for this role are:
Ensuring the design, analysis, and packaged equipment
Conducting detailed engineering assessments to enhance reliability, performance, and lifespan of packaged equipment
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with project specifications and schedules
Supporting maintenance and inspection teams by providing expertise in failure analysis and recommending corrective actions
Leading efforts in optimizing equipment efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and operational integrity
Responsibilities:
Review ITB (Invitation to Bid) documents and technical correspondence received, raise clarifications on the ITB / Contractual documents
Identify scope of work, budgeted man hours, budgeted quantities, total number of deliverables, and format for deliverables, time schedules and other specifications for execution of the work. Monitor man-hour costs and schedules. Recommend cost effective measures to reduce the overall package costs
Preparation of equipment cost, size, and weight estimates
Review contract requirements for project execution, Identify technical requirements, preparation of the deliverable list, scope of work; prepare & review Project specifications, Process Data Sheets (PDS), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's), Piping Material Specifications (PMS), Plot plans, Equipment Layout Drawings, Review Project Philosophies, Area Classification Drawings, and other relevant documents.
Prepare Mechanical Data Sheets (MDS), Prepare / Amend the specification for equipment / Packages, establish contract review criteria, identify, and resolve discrepancies and divergences from original proposal through the initiation of technical queries to projects/client
Provide inputs for the preparation of plot plans; organize the issuance of package and technical documents for Inter-Discipline Checks (IDC's), coordinate with other engineering, project, and procurement discipline in the integration of data inputs
Preparation of Inquiry Requisitions; participate in the technical evaluation of vendor bid offers. Direct and provide guidance in the Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE). Review vendor offers and technically evaluate it by raising technical queries. Evaluate the technical terms with the vendors during technical meetings. Ensure vendor documents meet with client specifications and are within budgeted costs
Review and markup vendor data for compliance to the purchase requisition and project requirements, ensuring consistency with primary project documents (Equipment List, PFDs, P&IDs)
Coordinate the preparation of Purchase Requisitions for the procurement of equipment and materials. Ensure timely return of vendor documents within scheduled timeframes
Participate in Site visits, Design review, HAZOP studies, Model Review and other safety reviews / meeting with client and representatives of other engineering discipline. Coordinate with engineering and design disciplines to ensure that equipment interfaces with process/utility systems, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and structural are effectively implemented; work with design groups to ensure 3D model accurately depicts equipment/package components
Liaise and engage with Licensors, Equipment Vendors and OEMs as required to conclude the project deliverables in accordance with the project scope
Reporting on work status/problem areas/needs on a weekly basis to Lead and project team
Planning and scheduling of discipline deliverables and activities for the allocated project. To attend weekly internal and external progress meetings and generate status reports for the Engineering / Project Manager
Define scope of work for 3rd Party Sub-Contracts / existing OEMs as required
Provide input to scope of work and Tender Package for EXECUTE stage
Take ownership for Risk Identification, Assessment, Mitigation, Monitoring and Close Out for your respective discipline
Implement all lessons learnt identified
Communicate effectively with project team, vendor, and client; inform Project Lead of significant issues and changes impacting manhours, cost, or schedule

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
14+ years of experience in Oil and Gas industry
Minimum of 3 years' experience in similar role, preferably in UAE or Middle East
Onshore experience is must, whilst ADNOC experience is desired.
Must have hand on experience in Gas processing plant, sour service.
Hands on experience in Package's for gas processing units such as Gas Dehydration (Mol Sieve and TEG based), Utility boiler, HSRG'S, Boiler water treatment and Condensate polishing units, Acid gas recovery unit packages, SRU / TGTU unit packages (Fired Heaters, Main combustion chamber, Incinerators packages), Deep NGL recovery unit packages, Dewpoint unit packages, Condensate Stabilization unit packages, ASU (PSA or membrane H2 / N2 recovery packages), sour water treatment unit, etc.,

Confidently deliver assigned scopes of work independently / remotely from technical leadership personnel, with minimal guidance and direction
Take accountability for own targets and supervise engineering and design resource as required to meet project expectations
Have demonstrable experience of working within a small project office, supporting cross discipline activities beyond their core discipline
Demonstrate a competent level of written and spoken communication skills in the English language
