What Does a Senior OpenShift Platform Engineer Do?
As a Senior OpenShift Platform Engineer at Dicetek, you will manage multi-tenant OpenShift and ROSA environments with a focus on workload distribution, security, and scalability. You will lead platform automation efforts, CI/CD integration, performance optimization, and compliance across distributed systems in collaboration with DevOps and cloud teams.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Manage OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and Red Hat OpenShift on AWS (ROSA)
- Implement workload segregation, efficient cluster scaling, and seamless upgrades
- Deploy and maintain Operators to extend platform functionality
- Oversee Kubernetes microservices clusters to ensure high availability and performance
- Enforce RBAC and LDAP-based access control and conduct regular security audits
- Automate housekeeping and platform tasks using Ansible
- Set up and maintain monitoring using Prometheus and Grafana
- Manage GitHub and Quay-based image registries and entitlements
- Implement audit logging and performance metrics for proactive monitoring
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to support CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GitLab
- Support IBM CloudPak for Integration/Application deployments (preferred)
What Skills Are Required for a Platform Engineer in Dubai?
Education and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience managing enterprise OpenShift and Kubernetes platforms
- Proven experience with multi-tenant cluster operations and ROSA deployments
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in OpenShift upgrades, scaling, Operators, and automation with Ansible
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes orchestration, performance tuning, and microservices lifecycle
- Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus) and audit logging
- Skilled in access control using LDAP, Roles, and RBAC
- Experience managing container image registries and license entitlements
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab)
- IBM CloudPak knowledge is a plus
