Senior Network Engineer - Project Delivery
Location: Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), Dubai, UAE (Onsite)
Duration: 12-Month Contract (Project-Based)

About the Role
We are seeking a highly accomplished and CCIE-certified Senior Network Engineer to join a critical 12-month project within a leading Financial Institution. This is a hands-on, project-delivery focused role where you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of a complex, enterprise-scale network infrastructure.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with over 15 years of experience, deep technical expertise in routing/switching and network security, and a proven track record of delivering high-stakes projects in banking or similarly regulated environments. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our network, which is fundamental to our operations.
Key Responsibilities

• Project Delivery & Implementation: Lead and execute key network projects, including SD-WAN deployments, Azure cloud networking integration, and core network upgrades.
• Design & Architecture: Contribute to the design and architecture of a robust, scalable, and secure enterprise network, ensuring alignment with business objectives and security standards.
• Advanced Troubleshooting: Perform deep-dive troubleshooting to resolve complex network issues, minimizing impact on business-critical financial services.
• Automation & Scripting: Develop and implement automation scripts (Python/Ansible) to streamline network operations, improve efficiency, and reduce manual errors.
• Network Security: Configure, manage, and maintain advanced security appliances (Checkpoint firewalls, F5 load balancers) to protect the integrity of the financial data environment.
• Monitoring & Performance: Utilize tools like SolarWinds and PRTG for proactive network monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure all network configurations and changes adhere to strict ITIL processes, internal security policies, and financial industry compliance standards (e.g., PCI-DSS).
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design diagrams, configuration records, and operational procedures.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Certification: Active CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) certification in Routing & Switching or Security is mandatory.
• Experience: 15+ years of progressive experience in designing, implementing, and supporting large-scale enterprise networks.
• Core Networking Expertise:
• Expert-level knowledge of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, and VPN technologies.
• Proven hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, and wireless infrastructure.
• Strong experience with Aruba networking solutions.
• SD-WAN & Cloud: Demonstrable experience with SD-WAN implementation and management. Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Azure Networking (VNet, ExpressRoute, NSGs, Load Balancers).
• Network Security: In-depth practical knowledge of Checkpoint firewalls and F5 load balancers (LTM/GTM).
• Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in scripting for network automation, specifically with Python and Ansible.
• Monitoring & Analysis: Expertise with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG) and packet analysis using Wireshark.
• Methodology & Industry Knowledge:
• Strong understanding of ITIL framework (Change, Incident, Problem Management).
• Proven experience working in a banking or highly secure enterprise environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Advantageous)

• Project Management: PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
• Security Credentials: CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or equivalent.
• Cloud Certifications: Microsoft Azure (e.g., AZ-700) or other relevant cloud networking certifications.
• Financial Sector Experience: Direct experience with network technologies and compliance requirements specific to the banking industry.
