Job Description

Job Summary: The Senior MEP BIM Coordinator is responsible for leading the development, coordination, and management of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems across construction and design projects. This role ensures seamless collaboration between architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to optimize design efficiency, clash detection, and construction planning. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in MEP coordination, BIM standards (ISO 19650, PAS 1192), and advanced proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and other BIM-related tools. Key Responsibilities: 1. BIM Coordination & Model Management

• Lead MEP BIM coordination efforts, ensuring models are clash-free and compliant with project requirements.
• Conduct clash detection (using Navisworks, Revit, or similar) and resolve conflicts between MEP and other disciplines.
• Develop and enforce BIM execution plans (BEP) and project-specific standards.
• Oversee LOD (Level of Development) compliance for MEP models.
• Manage Federated Models and ensure proper integration of architectural, structural, and MEP models.

2. Design & Construction Support

• Work closely with MEP engineers, contractors, and designers to optimize system layouts for constructability.
• Generate shop drawings, spool drawings, and fabrication-ready models.
• Assist in 4D/5D BIM scheduling and cost estimation integration where required.
• Support prefabrication and modular construction initiatives through detailed BIM coordination.

3. Standards & Process Improvement

• Develop and maintain company-wide BIM standards for MEP disciplines.
• Train and mentor junior BIM staff and project teams on best practices.
• Stay updated with industry trends (ISO 19650, COBie, IFC, OpenBIM) and implement improvements.

4. Collaboration & Reporting

• Lead BIM coordination meetings with stakeholders (contractors, architects, engineers).
• Provide BIM progress reports to project leadership.
• Liaise with clients and external partners to ensure BIM deliverables meet contractual requirements.
