XYZ Designers is seeking a qualified Senior Mechanical Engineer (Design) to lead the design of mechanical systems across high-value building projects in Dubai. The ideal candidate will bring extensive local UAE experience, strong technical expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, and a proven record of managing the mechanical design for at least two projects each valued at AED 100M or above.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee the design of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection) from concept to detailed design. Ensure compliance with Dubai/UAE codes and authority regulations (e.g., DEWA, DCD, DM). Coordinate closely with architects, other disciplines (MEP, structural, ID), and sub-consultants. Manage client expectations and participate in design presentations and technical meetings. Review and approve mechanical design submissions, specifications, BOQs, and tender packages. Supervise junior engineers and CAD/Revit technicians in the preparation of coordinated drawings. Conduct technical evaluations of contractor/shop drawing submittals during construction stage (if required). Provide value engineering and technical input during project development and tendering. Report to the MEP Design Manager or Project Director as required.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university. Minimum 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in the UAE in a consultancy environment. Proven experience managing mechanical design on at least 2 projects in Dubai valued at AED 100M+ each. Strong knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, and UAE/local authority regulations. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP, and MS Office; familiarity with Navisworks is an advantage. Excellent coordination and communication skills. Ability to manage design timelines, resources, and deliverables.
