Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Marine Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to provide on-site technical expertise, oversight, and coordination to encourage successful execution. Provide oversight for construction activities, coordinate with various stakeholders, and ensure compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and project timelines.

What You\'ll Be Doing:
  • Performs complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately. Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings.
  • Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
  • Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.
  • Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
  • Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
  • Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
  • Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
  • Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
  • May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.
  • Designs different coastal structures such as breakwaters, revetments, seawalls and quay walls including the preparation of design conditions, preliminary design and detailed design.
  • Prepares drawings and specification of materials.
  • Designs and lays out complete systems and components of a Company project with all related facilities, including design elements for which there may be no clearly established precedents. Utilizes good judgment and prior experience, anticipates problems at the outset, and provides solutions.
  • Does front end layout and design of complex systems and equipment as applicable to the respective discipline.
  • Provides for compliance with items such as specifications, tolerances, safety factors and requirements of client.
  • Performs specialized design computations and analysis within a given discipline.
  • May serve as a Unit Leader on a project, ensuring compliance with industry codes, project, and Company standards.
  • Performs interdisciplinary reviews and provides coordinating data to ensure a compatible design.
  • May give lead direction to a team of checking personnel, ensuring the mathematical accuracy of the drawings produced.
  • Understands and applies company commonly used design standards and methods. Helps establish or revise guidelines, as appropriate.
  • Prepares manpower estimates.
  • Coordinates with Engineers and other disciplines to ensure quality of design.
  • Reviews supplier data as required. Reads supplier/manufacturer drawings.
  • Checks orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others. Performs checking procedures as appropriate to the discipline and assigned by the immediate supervisor.
  • Helps train lower level Designers.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You\'ll Bring:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering (or related field)
  • 10+ years of related field engineering experience with a Marine Emphasis, or a broad general engineering background is required or 8+ years with a Masters Degree in a related field
  • Experience with Marine Construction, Soil Stabilization/soil mixing required
  • MENA Marine based experience is required
  • Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required.
  • Potential to perform in a lead capacity
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills (Mastery of the English Language)
  • Familiarity of industry practices and regulations are required.
  • Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.

  • Civl/Marine Construction Experience in: Reclamation, Dredging, Bathometric Surveying, Quay Walls, Backfilling, Compaction, Soil Improvement techniques, Piling, Bridges, Roadways, Causeways, Rock Revetment and Dynamic Compaction etc.
  • Aconex Software Skills
  • MS Office 365
