Job Overview:
McDermott's is looking for a Sr. Manager IT Pillar to lead Engineering IT team in the Europe offices.
The Senior Manager Technology (IT) is tasked with the development of departmental plans, including business, production, and/or organizational priorities. The role requires multi-disciplinary expertise and the ability to understand the industry to achieve financial and operational objectives. They manage multiple related teams, set their organizational priorities, and allocate the appropriate resources. They must be able to identify and resolve a range of complex technical, operational, and organizational problems. The Senior Manager Technology (IT) directly impacts business results by supporting and function-specific projects, products, services, and/or technologies, and developing policies and plans.
Responsibilities:
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of engineering tools & systems administrators, responsible for their assignments and deliverables
  • Responsible for the setting and reviewing the company, project, functional team and personal goals for the individual team members throughout the year
  • Responsible for mcdermott & vendor resource allocated to the projects
  • Responsible for client alignment for engineering systems
  • Review the information management execution plan for proposals and projects.
  • Prepare Engineering IT admin estimates and control spending within the allocated budgets
  • Detect and manage project scope changes
  • Translate project specific information requirements into efficient system configurations and related user instructions. Enable digital and data driven delivery
  • Prepare functional specification and manage the development and implementation of project specific applications and/or interfaces
  • Capture lessons learned, best practices and ensure their embedding in the organization.
  • Train and coach personnel for and on assignments
  • Provide input to audits and peer reviews, undertake other project audits as required
  • Responsible for requesting, interviewing, and recommending prior to hiring any additional team members when necessary
  • Have knowledge of software licenses and allocation
  • Have knowledge of budget allocation and management
Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications and Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline or IT, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 15 years' experience as Engineering tools administration, Information Manager on FEED, EPC and EPCF projects and a minimum of 5 years responsibility of resource management.
  • Fully familiar with Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Fabrication project execution requirements for Information Management.
  • Conversant with modern database driven engineering tools, integrated engineering
  • Experience of managing large IM and data teams for large and Mega projects.
