Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITY:

Business-IT Alignment

Translate business requirements from operational domains into technical specifications by thoroughly analyzing business processes, with the objective of streamlining workflows and enabling automation.

Stakeholder Engagement

Maintain continuous engagement with key business users to identify and address bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the current suite of IT applications.

Strategic Planning

Develop and maintain project roadmaps aligned with corporate objectives and strategic direction.

CAPEX Planning & ROI Analysis

Prepare capital expenditure justifications, calculate Return on Investment (ROI) and payback periods to support business case approvals for IT initiatives.

Change Impact Assessment

Conduct detailed impact analyses on proposed change requests, providing clear recommendations by outlining both benefits and risks to the business.

Demand Management & Prioritization

Facilitate monthly prioritization meetings with business units to evaluate demands based on strategic value and ROI potential.

Solution Design & Delivery Leadership

Lead high-level solution design activities and guide the development team through successful implementation of IT solutions.

Resource Allocation & Vendor Coordination

Assign appropriate internal resources and coordinate with outsourced partners to ensure solutions are delivered according to user requirements and in adherence to high-quality standards.

Project Monitoring & Reporting

Track project milestones and deliverables, producing regular status reports and updates for stakeholders and senior management.

Team Development

Mentor and motivate junior team members to develop strong domain knowledge and project management capabilities.

Testing Coordination

Collaborate with the QA/testing team to prepare test scenarios and ensure rigorous functional and system testing is conducted prior to User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Budget Planning Support

Contribute to the preparation of the annual IT budget and assist in defining the long-term IT project roadmap.

Task Execution

Complete all assignments delegated by the line manager in a timely and professional manner

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

Familiarity with Java, Oracle PL/SQL, or Python to effectively guide developers and review technical decisions. Understanding of object-oriented programming, RESTful APIs, and modular code design principles. Database Fundamentals: Working knowledge of Oracle databases: data modeling, query optimization, and backup strategies. Awareness of data governance and integrity standards. Proven experience integrating IT systems with external stakeholders (e.g., Customs, Municipality, Banks, Security Departments). Expertise in API orchestration, data mapping, and secure transmission standards Familiarity with messaging queues like Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or Oracle AQ for real-time and asynchronous communication. Understanding of web services (REST/SOAP) and data formats (JSON, XML, EDI). Exposure to computer vision use cases such as gate OCR, yard surveillance, or container damage detection. Understanding of AI/ML model integration into operational workflows (e.g., via TensorFlow, OpenCV, or third-party APIs). Knowledge of IoT integration with equipment (e.g., quay cranes, OCR gates, VMTs) for data acquisition and automation. Ability to define and review high-level architecture for terminal automation, ERP, TOS, and integration layers. Experience with modular, scalable, and secure design patterns. Ensures alignment with regional ISR standards, cybersecurity policies, and data protection regulations. Understanding of data lakes, ETL pipelines, and centralized dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Oracle BI). Design and implementation of performance dashboards aligned with terminal operations (vessel turnaround time, yard utilization, gate performance). Strong collaboration skills with port authorities, government bodies, and external vendors. Proven track record in leading cross-functional IT programs from conception to deployment. * Ability to mentor technical teams while aligning IT outcomes with business goals.
