Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
The Senior Manager FibreCo will form a part of a highly skilled group of commercial, technical and management experts who are responsible for developing wholesale and leveraging MTN\xe2\x80\x99s global fixed connectivity infrastructure, within the MTN Group and developing the external business for 3 rd party carrier providers. MTN GlobalConnect and its team aims to better commercialize MTN Group\xe2\x80\x99s fixed line infrastructure, thereby gaining increased revenue in global markets.
The Senior Manager FibreCo will be responsible for the coordination of FibreCo readiness for business operations across identified market. He/she will own, coordinate and manage operations activities between FiberCos and GlobalConnect HQ in Dubai. These activities will include technical readiness, headcount plans, product and sales readiness. The role will be responsible for ensuring each FiberCo has all the support it needs to deliver on assigned revenue and performance targets as well as support the FibreCo MDs and Chief FibreCo Officer in managing the P&L of each FibreCo. Key Performance Areas: Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPAs) The Senior Manager FibreCo, will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:
  • Fully accountable for delivery of fixed network revenue and profit and product-related customer satisfaction, across the MTN GlobalConnect FibreCos

  • Provide leadership and guidance in the fixed connectivity wholesale environment within MTN.
  • Build and lead a virtual team to ensure the Fully operationalization of FiberCos across different markets.
  • Fully accountable for the MTN GlobalConnect service and customer experience around products & Solutioning ensuring they meet MTN GlobalConnect standards and MTN GlobalConnect requirements.
  • Be involved in negotiations and client relationships when required, as well as maintain relationships with key clients by providing information, support and guidance.
  • Approach high profile clients for strategic sales and be involved in the escalation process when a client is unsatisfied.
  • Be the focal interface with the GlobalConnect, Group, FiberCo and Opco network and technology teams.
  • Constantly monitor product performance, identify and solve key performance gaps and report revenue performance to Chief FibreCo Officer
  • Contribute to the achievement of set commercial targets in sales, buying and cost reduction targets while achieving the set quality of service parameters.
  • Review and coordinate sales strategy of the business lines as well as planning and executing wholesales solutions for the FibreCo wholesales teams.
  • Assess current competitive and operator landscape of the Wholesale Partnerships business and develop initiatives to ensure optimum revenues from MTN Group\xe2\x80\x99s backbone network capacity and connectivity.
Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)
Education:
  • Minimum 4 Year Academic Degree in (Engineering or Computer Science or Commerce / Business Administration)
  • Masters or Post Grad Degree in ( Engineering or Computer Science or Business Administration) as an advantage
  • English, French and Arabic (as advantage)
Experience:
  • 8+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Sales, operations, products management, strategy within the telecommunications space (ideal if experience is in carrier / enterprise business and/or fixed line international)
  • 5+ years managerial experience preferably in a Sales or Product, preferably in the telecommunications space (ideal if experience is in the carrier / wholesale business and/or fixed line international)
Competencies:
  • Core commercial competencies and financial acumen to manage the growth of MTN GlobalConnect
  • Detailed knowledge on the international telecommunication infrastructure industry with regard to latest industry trends and competitive landscape within the MTN footprint
  • Deep understanding of the space in which MTN GlobalConnect plays, from a commercial and technical perspective across the fixed wholesale products & services, focus should be on emerging markets, in terms of infrastructure, commercial requirements, trends, growth, etc.
  • Effectively manage processes and solutions to maximize efficient work within his/her business units.
  • Desire and ability to provide inputs for new product development and management.
  • Effective team management skills and the ability to coach, mentor and motivate a staff of commercial and technical professionals.
  • Ability to identify key issues in a situation and to think creatively and strategically in facing internal and external challenges.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent cross functional skills to be able to function across multiple business lines in a multicultural environment.
  • Exceptional networking skills to build MTN GlobalConnect professional relationships.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills to efficiently manage partners, customers and colleagues within MTN GlobalConnect business units.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the fixed connectivity landscape in terms of infrastructure, commercial requirements, trends, grow.
  • Strong analytical skills to execute MTN GlobalConnect strategy and compile high-level reports.
  • Exceptional networking skills to build MTN GlobalConnect\xe2\x80\x99s professional relationships.
  • Outstanding sales and negotiation skills to assist in winning contracts with large accounts.
  • Outstanding customer relationship building and management skills.
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Proficient fluency in English; Arabic or French an advantage
