OVERVIEW: Primarily responsible for the management, growth, and development of academic partnerships both existing and new. The role will leverage current key partnerships whilst building and assessing a pipeline of new partners to support FII’s agreed targets. This position reports into the Head of Think. JOB PURPOSE: Accountable for the development and growth of the academic, think tank, non-for-profit and NGO partnerships’ portfolio within the FII environment. This includes delivering high quality engagement to existing partners, developing strategic links and proactively identifying opportunities to build new sustainable partnerships. The Senior Manager Academic Partnerships will lead and support various partnership arrangements along with developing regional expertise for international partnerships. A key focus of the role is effective liaison with internal departments, coordinated business planning for external stakeholders and flexible operational delivery to maximize strong collaboration with THINK partners. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop new partnership pipeline in target geographies, through promoting FII’s academic partnership activities to regional, national and international higher education, think tank, non-for-profit and NGO institutions
Support the progress of the academic partnerships strategy and implement agreed elements of the strategy for FII.
Able to asses the proposals from Universities, Think Tanks, non-for-profits and NGOs and provide critical feedback to THINK about recommendations
Maintain, update and implement contracts with the THINK partners
Building, maintaining, and coordinating effective working relationships between FII and THINK partners across the globe in addition to academic schools and professional services departments.
Collaborate with stakeholders on the development of business plans and market analysis in relationship to setting up academic partnerships’ arrangements.
Ensure communication channel between the academic partners and FII is always available to maintain and sustain the current and new partners.
Liaise with colleagues inside and outside the work team to disseminate information at the appropriate time for successful development and delivery of academic partnership projects.
Ensure appropriate logistical arrangements are put in place, either in house or externally, for events and visits organized by the academic partnership office and external stakeholders.
To work with all teams across FII in providing academic partners through research and due diligence to stimulate proactive approaches for new ideas, and also responding appropriately to preliminary enquiries.
Act as an ambassador for FII in a range of external environments to grow the reputation of FII through ensuring effective promotion and celebration of the achievements and successes of FII and its academic partners.
Provide inspirational ideas to the idea curation through connecting and collaborations with all academic partners.
Assist the Head of Think and other partners with identifying new markets, lead generation and streamlining processes.
Assist and support thought leadership with publication and spreading the word around FII and its newly published papers.
Accountable for the performance and results of several related work teams.
Executes divisional business plans and contributes to the development of divisional strategy.
Guide division's budget preparation activities and continuously monitor budget performance against plans in alignment with set strategy and priorities.
Drive financial and operational performance within a department/division.
