Job Description
Aventus are working with a US listed business who have extensive operations in the Middle East.
This is an opportunity for a qualified lawyer to join a multinational business and take a lead on Sanctions matters within the organisation.
As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will work as part of the global legal team, reporting directly to the Deputy General Counsel.
Key Responsibilities
Providing subject matter expertise (sanctions, export controls and OFAC compliance) to legal and business teams;Keeping abreast of important initiatives and changes by authorities and regulators, and disseminating relevant information to stakeholders;Assessing risk controls and adjusting procedures to ensure effective compliance, reporting and escalation across the Group;Developing and providing sanctions, export controls and OFAC compliance training.
Education & Experience Required
Professionally qualified lawyer in good standing and/or Master's Degree in Law5-8 years of relevant experience in similar jobs, preferably with a reputable international law firm, a legal department of a private or public entity, regulatory organization, or an international financial institution with proven technical competence.Fluent in English. Russian language skills strongly beneficial but not mandatory.
