JOB DESCRIPTION Basic Role Details Unique Role Number Senior Legal Counsel - Research
LD003 - Legal Position Title & Job Family and Education Facility / Location SSMC Division Legal Department Job Grade F7 Reporting Supervisor Legal Director Roles and Responsibilities Basic Purpose of the role Responsible for managing the drafting and reviewing of contractual documents at SSMC to mainly assist the Research and the Education Shields with their contractual needs under the direction and supervision of the Legal Director. Key Responsibilities of the role Key Responsibilities of the role Corresponding Key Activities performed by the role Drafting, reviewing, commenting on and negotiating contracts for and on behalf of SSMC, including research, education, services and consultancy agreements with both Represent and advise SSMC in relation local and multinational contractors (and liaising with external counsel in relation to corporate transactions thereto) Preparing, formulating and reviewing memoranda regarding contractual issues and interpretation Identifying, assesing and managing legal risks related to research, educational and
Manage Legal Risks commercial activities Advise SSMC on research, education, cybercriminality, intellectual property, corporate and commercial issues Provide legal advice
Advise SSMC on relevant laws and regulations Provide legal opinion and consultancy as and when requested Participate in cross-functional teams and committees as and when requested by the Participate in committees and draft Legal Director policies Draft policies and participate in the establishment of legal procedures at SSMC under the guidance of the Legal Director SSMC Compliance guidelines Corresponding Activities performed by the role Compliance with SSMC Policies,

Materials Management and Maintenance standards Understand and adhere to emergency preparedness plans/policies Continuously develop skills and acquire additional knowledge in relation to the role Dress appropriately to meet the SSMC HR and OHS policies Personal Effectiveness Building key partnerships within the organization for pursuing client-centered, comprehensive, integrated systems of care Complying with any regulations related to mentoring, training, development of UAE nationals staff Qualifications, Certifications and Experience Required: Law degree (LL.B., JD, Master or equivalent) from a reputable US/UK/European Law Qualifications School Desired: Postgraduate degree in Law from an internationally reputable Law School / University Required: Admission to practice in an internationally recognised jurisdiction
Specialist Certifications Desired: US/UK/European Bar Exam Required: Experience Required in addition to the 5-7 years PQE in a top-tier law firm or in-house experience in an entity involved with Qualifications mentioned above research (e.g. pharmaceutical company, etc.) (Relevant to the Job) Desired: UAE and/or healthcare experience Required: Impecable English drafting skills Strong oral and written communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong negotiation skills Additional Requirements / Remarks Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with impecable English drafting skills Ability to deal with multiple issues simultaneously Ability to meet goals and deadlines MS Office and computer proficiency Desired: Proficiency in Arabic N.A.
