Senior Legal Counsel - MAF Properties - Communities Development - Dubai, UAE
Position Overview
Senior Legal Counsel roles at Majid Al Futtaim Properties in Dubai provide commercially focused legal leadership across complex real estate developments, investments, and joint ventures. Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary legal support to the Development Business Unit and escalation point for complex matters
• Lead and manage legal aspects of high-value real estate developments, investments, and joint ventures
• Structure, negotiate, and execute complex transactions including joint ventures, SPAs, development and management agreements, bulk sales, and financing arrangements
• Provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice to senior stakeholders, clearly articulating risks and mitigation options
• Proactively identify, assess, and manage legal and regulatory risks in line with agreed risk appetite
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts and continuously enhance legal templates aligned with applicable laws and best practice
• Lead legal workstreams on major development projects and coordinate with Development, Finance, Commercial, Sales, Investment, Risk, and Governance teams
• Advise on dispute avoidance and manage litigation or arbitration matters with external counsel when required

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Law
• Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience within a reputable law firm and or real estate development company
• Strong experience in complex real estate and development transactions in the UAE with regional exposure
• Proven capability in structuring, negotiating, and closing joint ventures, development agreements, and investments
• LLM or MBA is an advantage
• Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English
