As Senior Legal Counsel, you will report directly to the General Counsel, working alongside an existing team of Lawyers and legal support.
The company are involved in the construction of a number of 'mega projects' which include Energy, Utilities and Real Estate Development. Therefore, they need someone who likes variety and can settle into a fast paced legal team.
Responsibilities Overview:Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate complex EPC, O&M, and FIDIC-based contracts for construction and energy projects (including renewables, oil & gas, and utilities)Claims and Dispute Resolution: Manage external counsel through high-value claims (e.g., delays, variations, force majeure) and dispute resolution through UAE courts or arbitration Regulatory and Permitting Compliance: Ensure compliance with construction, environmental, and energy-specific regulations and manage permitting, grid connection, and HSE obligations.Risk Management and Project Support: Advise project and commercial teams across project lifecycles, tendering, development, execution, on contractual and regulatory risks, including international JV arrangements and financing-linked risks.
Experience/Qualifications Required:7-10 PQE in non-contentious construction and project infrastructure Common Law Qualification - UK, US, Aus etc..Experience of energy projects or large-scale real estate developments Experience working for a recognised international law firm
