Job Description

The Senior Legal Counsel will provide advice / guidance to Business Development and Tendering Teams on legal and compliance matters, as well as, assisting Project leaders in the execution of projects in the UAE/Egypt/Qatar & Azerbaijan.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Operations Provide Legal support to Business Development and Tendering teams for both Land and Marine Divisions (Pre-qualification, Tender review and negotiation support) Provide Contract Support to Project Leaders in both Land and Marine Divisions (Contract Review and Commercial claim drafting and support) Provide advice about cash collection, pre-litigation disputes and litigation, Provide support in relation to corporate housekeeping (licensing), Assist with any compliance related matters (including export control), Liaise with external law firm as required, Implementation of the Group Legal Procedures.

Principal Working Relationships Report to the Regional Head of Legal Middle East / India. Work with the Departments Managers for efficient resolution of legal and contractual issues. Work with the Financial Controller for financial and administrative control (as applicable) Work with Project execution teams for contract and claim support. Supervise One Junior Legal Counsel.

Qualifications required Master Degree in Civil Law (Master Degree) Master Degree in Common Law (LL.M)

Skills / experience required to do the job Minimum 10 years' experience. Experience in both EPC Marine and Land Businesses in a must. International experience is a must. Arabic language would be a plus but is not mandatory Fluent in English.
