The Senior Laboratory Technician is a highly experienced and versatile professional responsible for overseeing and executing advanced dental laboratory procedures to fabricate and restore high-quality dental prosthetics and appliances. This role requires a blend of technical proficiency, creative problem-solving, and leadership to deliver top-tier dental solutions. The Senior Lab Technician will be pivotal in ensuring the production of crowns, bridges, dentures, implants, and other dental devices, using both traditional craftsmanship and cutting-edge digital techniques. Fabrication & Restoration: Precision Fabrication: Expertly design, build, repair, and customize a variety of dental appliances, including crowns, bridges, full and partial dentures, dental implants, mouth guards, and orthodontic devices. Restorative Expertise: Accurately restore or replace natural teeth by crafting high-quality prostheses using a variety of materials, such as ceramics, metals, and advanced polymers. Complex Restorations: Specialize in the construction of dental prostheses for implantology and maxillo-facial reconstructions, ensuring both aesthetic and functional perfection. Final Touches: Perform precise polishing, finishing, and adjustments to dental prostheses to ensure an optimal fit, function, and overall aesthetic appeal. Customization: Make adjustments and refinements to dental prostheses and devices based on detailed feedback from the dentist, ensuring a perfect fit for the patient. Digital Workflow & Advanced Techniques: CAD/CAM Expertise: Utilize advanced computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software for digital smile design, as well as the design and fabrication of dental restorations. 3D Printing & Innovation: Operate 3D printing technology and other cutting-edge digital equipment to create accurate dental models and prosthetic devices, keeping up with technological advancements in dental laboratories. Technology-Driven: Stay abreast of the latest trends and innovations in digital dental laboratory techniques to continuously elevate the quality and efficiency of the services provided. Laboratory Operations & Management: Inventory Management: Oversee and manage laboratory supplies, ensuring that all materials, tools, and equipment are adequately stocked and maintained for optimal workflow. Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting on laboratory equipment, facilitating timely repairs to minimize downtime. Documentation & Compliance: Maintain meticulous records of laboratory processes, ensuring full compliance with local industry regulations, safety standards, and best practice protocols. Regulatory Adherence: Ensure adherence to MOHAP PQR (Performance Quality Requirements) and MAS (Medical Administration Services) policies, safeguarding the clinic's compliance with healthcare standards. Quality Control & Compliance: Quality Assurance: Ensure that all dental prostheses and appliances meet or exceed quality standards, strictly adhering to dentist specifications for optimal patient outcomes. Infection Control: Follow rigorous infection control, sterilization, and hygiene protocols to maintain a safe, clean, and compliant laboratory environment. Record-Keeping: Keep precise records of all laboratory activities, including materials used, procedures performed, and regulatory compliance documentation to maintain audit readiness. Leadership Role: Lead and mentor junior dental technicians, providing guidance, training, and development on advanced techniques, best practices, and laboratory operations. Collaboration: Work closely with dentists and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth communication, seamless workflow, and the highest level of patient satisfaction. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. A keen eye for precision and a passion for staying at the forefront of dental technology. Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service and patient satisfaction. Required Skills & Qualifications Diploma or degree in Dental Technology from a recognized institution. Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a Dental Laboratory Technician, with a focus on advanced prosthetics and digital workflows. Must hold a valid dental technician license from the UAE (DHA/HOD/MOH) Under Special training/certification. Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and 3D printing technologies. Strong knowledge of dental materials, tools, and equipment, including porcelain ovens, furnaces, and lathes. Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity for precise fabrication work.
