We are seeking an experienced Senior Instrument Designer to join our Clients\' project team. As a Senior Instrument Designer, you will be responsible for assisting the senior designer in Instrumentation design activities by timely developing the drawings as per project and company quality standards. You should have the ability to analyze and understand client requirements, as well as develop Bills of Materials. Your responsibilities will also include 3D modeling or 2D drafting using SPI, PDS, PDMS, or SP3D software, installation layouts, loop drawing, wiring diagram, and ensuring effective communication among other engineering disciplines and project management.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist the senior designer in Instrumentation design activities by timely developing the drawings as per project and company quality standards
Ability to analyze & understand client requirements
Ability to develop Bills of Materials
SPI, PDS, PDMS, SP3D 3D Modeling or 2D Drafting
Installation layouts (Instrument Location layouts, Air distribution, Main Cable Routing, Secondary cable tray)
Building Layouts (Control Room Equipment layout, Earthing layout, Telecom layout)
Instrument standard installation / Hookups and Cable block diagram
Loop drawing, wiring diagram in 2D as well as in SPI
Ensure effective communications among other engineering disciplines and project management
Coordinate within members of discipline, other engineering disciplines within the organization or project team as well as with Clients, third parties, vendors etc
Participate in progress review meetings and be aware of project status, progress, delays, change notices, performance measurement, lessons learned and close-out
Take personal responsibility for safety and a healthy environment on the projects
Should be able to add value plus/ optimization ideas
Skills / Qualifications:
Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation or Electronics and Communication
In-depth knowledge of design tools - AutoCAD / Micro station
SPI, PDS, PDMS, SP3D 3D Modeling software experience
Ability to organize and set priorities
Ability to communicate and present effectively
Ability to report in English, both verbal & in writing
Proactive attitude
Experience in I&C design, preferably with an Engineering consultancy
FPSO / Offshore experience is preferred
