Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior

GIS Specialist - Masterplanning

to join our team within the Design and Planning Studio! In this role you will get to support urban planning projects by providing geospatial analysis, mapping, and data management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and a passion for urban planning and development.

What You'll Be Doing:

Conduct spatial analysis and create detailed maps to support urban planning projects. Manage and maintain GIS databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Collaborate with urban planners, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate GIS data into planning processes. Develop and implement GIS-based models and tools to analyze urban development scenarios. Prepare and present GIS reports, maps, and visualizations to support decision-making. Stay updated with the latest GIS technologies and best practices.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

Bachelor's degree in Geography, Urban Planning, GIS, or a related field. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in GIS, preferably in an urban planning context. Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and spatial analysis techniques. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of urban planning principles and practices is a plus.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, R) for GIS automation and analysis. Understanding of urban design and land use planning.
