Job Purpose

Directs and participates in reservoir characterization studies in the assigned field, monitors the interpretation of all available geological data in order to improve the geological models of producing for undeveloped & potential reservoirs.

Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)

. Builds 3D geological models incorporating reservoir rock typing, structural, seismic, SCAL data and performances uncertainty analyses. . Evaluates geological uncertainties in the subsurface by defining and ranking geological scenarios. Supports reservoir engineers in the simulation studies. Initiates and follows up closely on all geology related studies in new reservoirs carried out by consultants or shareholders in assigned field/concession area. . Develops, directs, and participates in geological reservoir studies aimed at constructing and/or improving geological models. Includes coordinating and defining coring, logging and testing requirements. . Coordinates and checks the preparation of geological requirements and geological predictions of appraisal and development wells. . Coordinates and participates in the preparation of reservoir appraisal sheets. Includes reviewing and evaluating test results. . Participates in the definition of contracted special field testing related to reservoir geology. Includes defining scope of special test required, preparing specifications, evaluating bids and recommending final award and contract features as assigned. Ensures contractors' compliance with contract terms and schedules and monitors progress and performance through regular activity reports.

. Proposes and prepares data exchanges / trades with companies active in the countries and emirates surrounding Abu Dhabi, to complement ADNOC corporate data base and to be used in regional studies. . Provide technical inputs for the preparation of regular management reports such as the weekly, Daily exploration / appraisal well drilling reports; Monthly exploration / appraisal drilling overview, etc. . Monitor geological consultants to ensure accuracy and clarity and report results to team members and other concerned parties.

Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function. Minimum Qualification

Job Family / Sub Family: Operations / Exploration & Development Operations 3. JOB PURPOSE: Design and execute geomodelling activities including analysis, data acquisition and interpretation for AYP's assets with focus on fracture characterization and modeling to assure optimum reservoir operations and performance management in order to enhance long terms production efficiencies, optimize productivity in line with defined industrial standards, global best practices, business strategy and AYP quality standards. Construct 3D geological models for AYP reservoirs in incorporating all geological, geophysical and petro physical data. Provide technical support on selecting wells locations and dynamic modelling according to policies and procedures. 4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Geomodelling Provide technical expertise on fracture characterization and modeling studies, and pursue opportunities in support of integrated technologies with other experts within the Division to assure achievement of long term sustainability efforts within the AYP portfolio. Execute projects with emphasis on geomodelling studies and provide expertise for Geo-Solutions projects within the Company. Assess quality of reservoir data including seismic data (horizons / faults), petro-physical data (porosity / fluid saturation) and geological data (formation tops / reservoir layers) for grid construction and geo-statistical distribution of reservoir properties. Conduct fracture characterization and modelling interpretation to achieve desired data for strategic decision making on reservoir evaluations. Promote effective integration of key aspects of fracture characterization and modelling into the development of models for pilots in conducting reservoir studies and dynamic modelling in accordance with related technical working system standards and Shareholder guidelines and best practices. Create reservoir thickness & property maps by generating cross-sections in several directions for well correlation to identify anomalous wells / geological layers. Create structural model of the reservoir based seismic interpretation (faults / horizons), formation tops and structural geology (present day rock geometries) considering regional settings & tectonic history of the field. Ensure quality of input data for the models. Create residual maps & fault statistics report to check & improve quality of structural model, which will be used to create geological and simulation grids. Conduct property distribution through faces analysis / interpretation of depositional environments and diagenesis based on log interpretation / core description to geological model. Extract average property maps, cross-sections and statistical data from geological / simulation model(s) to compare & check the quality of input data of property distributions. Provide geological support to assess production rates, drilling locations and development plans. Analyse distribution of rock types, porosity, permeability and saturation using geo-statistical techniques, including SIS, SGS, Cloud Transform and saturation height functions for each property. Update existing model(s) with newly available reservoir seismic / geological data. Create volumetric computation and conducts risk analysis based on area of trap, net reservoir thickness, porosity / hydrocarbon saturation, recovery factor and formation volume factor. Assess subsurface risks / uncertainties. Construct optimized simulation grid(s) based on received requirements from reservoir engineer and up-scales properties into the grid(s) from geological grid. Ensure minimum impact on reservoir properties while up-scaling. Provide support to the Field Development team (geologists, geophysicists, reservoir engineers, petro-physicists) in the construction of dynamic models and implementation of necessary iterations. Participate in the assessment of reservoir development strategies and presents recommendations / information on geological modelling to management Development & Evaluation of New Technology Study and evaluate new technologies on all aspects of geomodelling areas including fracture characterization and risk assessment to facilitate achievement of long term sustainability. Provide expertise in the selection of best fitting, state of the technology, systems and tools to facilitate optimum production and operations execution.
