JOB TITLE: Senior Engineer-Cost Control
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise the Implementation of all Department policies, processes, systems, standards, cost control procedures and internal controls, so that the Department objectives are accomplished safely, reliably and cost effectively.
  • Coordination with Project Manager and liaison with the Function to ensure the steady and accurate flow of project cost information.
  • Review and monitoring of Project Budget and accounts cost code allocations.
  • Preparation of manpower cost histograms and Project cash out flow, as and when required.
  • Conducting Cost Risk Analysis and Analyzing variances
  • Establish and maintain work and Cost breakdown structure to control and report costs at agreed levels.
  • Report Value of Work Done and identify trends that impact the final cost per Project.
  • Coordinates the pricing structure or criteria that will be used by each discipline or specialty to meet the objectives of the cost estimate.
  • Prepare reports on a periodic basis on the status of the costs incurred and the variations of the budgeted v/s actual in consultation with supervisor/Project Manager.
  • Monitor costs and generate variance reports as and when required and forward to the Supervisor/Project Manager for his perusal.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing cost engineering functions, which include cost estimating, cost control, and cost analysis, in the field and the home office.
  • Statistical knowledge in the areas of sampling, distributions, probability, and hypothesis testing for metrics.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting systems and controller account codes, and understanding of Controller instructions, which impact Project Controls (including Project Financial Status Reports and Earned Revenue Determination Data).
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.
  • Good people and communication skills
  • Familiar with Cost management Tools (Preferably Ecosys).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Engineering Degree with minimum of 15 years working experience out of which minimum five years in the Cost Control function of EPC medium projects, preferably last 2 years in Cost Control function in Oil & Gas field.
