Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Overhead Lines (OHL) Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the civil and structural design, analysis, and project management of high-voltage overhead transmission line projects. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise, a strong commitment to quality, and the leadership skills to guide projects from conception through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Design & Analysis:

• Perform and review detailed civil and structural design for overhead transmission line systems, including foundations, support structures (lattice towers, poles), and associated infrastructure.
• Conduct structural analysis and calculations for steel and concrete components using industry-standard software (e.g., PLS-TOWER, PLS-POLE,

, SAP2000, or similar). * Develop and review geotechnical reports and design foundations (e.g., drilled piers, spread footings, direct embedment, grillages, anchors) based on soil data.

• Create and check design drawings, specifications, and bill of materials (BOM) for construction.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant international, national, and client-specific standards (e.g., IEC, ASCE, IEEE, Eurocodes, BS, IS, client design manuals).

Project Management & Execution:

• Lead the civil/structural engineering aspects of OHL projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Coordinate with internal multidisciplinary teams (electrical, mechanical, survey) and external stakeholders (clients, contractors, suppliers, regulatory bodies).
• Prepare technical proposals, project scopes, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Manage project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.

Leadership & Mentorship:

• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and review the work of junior engineers and designers.
• Foster a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment within the team.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in design methodologies and processes.

Client & Site Engagement:

• Serve as a primary technical point of contact for clients, addressing queries and presenting design solutions.
• Conduct site visits for feasibility studies, route planning, site inspections, and construction support.
• Resolve site-based technical issues and provide non-conformance reports (NCRs) when necessary.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. A Master's degree is a plus.
• 8+ years of proven experience in the civil/structural design of overhead transmission lines (voltage levels of 132kV and above is highly desirable).
• Professional Engineer (PE/Chartered Engineer) license or ability to obtain one within a specified period.
• Proficiency in industry-specific software (PLS Suite,

, SAFE, MathCAD, AutoCAD). * In-depth knowledge of structural mechanics, foundation engineering, and geotechnical principles.

• Strong understanding of industry codes and standards (ASCE, IEC, IEEE, NESC, etc.).
• Excellent project management skills and a track record of successfully delivering complex projects.

Desirable:

• Experience with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects.
• Familiarity with lattice tower design and detailing.
• Experience working in a consulting engineering environment.
• Proficiency with BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes and tools.
