Conduct comprehensive material research to identify, evaluate, and select suitable materials for missile components, considering properties, performance requirements, and environmental factors.
Design and oversee material testing procedures to assess mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties, ensuring materials meet specifications and standards.
Perform failure analysis and root cause investigations on material anomalies or failures, providing recommendations for material improvements or design modifications to enhance missile performance and reliability.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence in material science engineering.
Stay updated with industry advancements, emerging materials, and technologies, and apply relevant knowledge to enhance missile design and performance.
Plan and implement laboratory operations for the purpose of developing material and fabrication procedures that meet cost, product specification, and performance standards.
Support Accountabilities: * Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and aerodynamicists, to integrate materials effectively into missile design.
Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations by implementing rigorous quality control measures throughout the material selection and production processes.
Conduct internal & external innovation training sessions for employees on coating materials, energy absorption materials.
Conceptualize and develop solutions based on project requirements and company standards by using simulations/modelling & experiments to support expansions and changes.
Qualification / Experience
Minimum 8 years in the field of polymer and coating technologies and 4 years in a senior role for a large corporate
